Try telling a 10-year-old Bolton fan that this actually happened...

Big Sam brings big names. So good they named him twice, Jay-Jay Okocha was joined by the likes of Ivan Campo, Fernando Hierro and Youri Djorkaeff in "Allardici's" Wanderers side...

Brockerz: As a Bolton fan, Big Sam would be welcome back in a flash. Brought the good times, not to mention the likes of Okocha et al.

Jack King: I'd love to see Alan Curbishley back at Charlton, those times were brilliant in the Premier League.

Ryan Stayner: As a Yeovil Town fan, don't think I would ever disapprove of reapointing Gary Johnson... for all the lows, he gave us our highest high.

The Northern Ireland squad are taking a hammering! Chris Brunt has a shot blocked by Wilfired Zaha, who clatters Brunt accidentally in the process, drawing a lot of blood from a cut nose.

Brunt will need some treatment, as at the other end Zaha leaves two men for dead with great footwork. Zaha looks to be on it today.

"Two shots from Bolasie and one shot from Zaha from Palace, both at Myhill, while West Brom have only had one shot from McClean. All poor efforts so far.

"On the evidence of the first 20 minutes Palace are holding sway, they are having the majority of the ball and looking slightly more dangerous."

This man's Derby side were a treat to watch at times. Christie, Baiano, Wanchope...

A lot of the gaffers you'd love to see back in the dugout are there on the strength of their transfer dealings - and Paulo Wanchope tops the summers signings list...

Scott: I'd have Jim Smith, AKA the Bald Eagle, back at Derby County any day of the week, made some terrific signings...I'll never forget Wanchope's winner against Man Utd back in 97.

Benjamin Lawrence: I would happily take O'Leary back at Leeds. He did a great job and made some great (possibly a bit overpriced) signings.

Dylan Grahame: Kenny Shiels back to Kilmarnock. Worked fantastically to bring through and develop young players and won the cup against Celtic.

Sunderland v West Ham (15:00 BST)

Is Dick Advocaat really going to walk out this evening?

We may get a clue when he names a 1-1-8 formation before kick-off.

  18. Advocaat's futurepublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 3 October 2015

Sunderland v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Steve Bower
BBC football commentator at the Stadium of Lights

"The rumour mill on Wearside was that Dick Advocaat would walk out after the West Ham match this afternoon.

"He began his press conference denying the reports and ended it by saying he was the Sunderland manager on Friday and Saturday but that things can change in a week, month or nine months. There are suggestions he took his backroom staff out for a farewell meal and that sporting director Lee Congleton is set to resign.

"All it does is increase the pressure on Sunderland, they have not won any of their first six matches in the last three seasons and if they got a new manager it would be the fifth in the last two and a half years."
