  7. goal

GOAL - Sunderland 2-1 West Hampublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 3 October 2015

    Carl Jenkinson (45 mins)

And that is why you HAVE to take your chances in the Premier League. West Ham could easily be four or five goals down, but instead they respond on the stroke of half-time. Victor Moses runs down the left and crosses, Carl Jenkinson arrives to scuff a shot under the keeper and in.

    GOAL - Bournemouth 1-1 Watfordpublished at 15:45

    Odion Ighalo (45 mins)

A gift for Watford just before the break as Artur Boruc passes straight to Odion Ighalo, who rounds the Bournemouth keeper and sidefoots into the empty net.

  9. Cattermole tigerish in midfieldpublished at 15:45

Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole was impressive last weekend despite the 3-0 defeat by Manchester United, and he is at his tigerish best today, already making five recoveries (yellow), three interceptions (blue), one tackle (green) and one clearance (purple).

  10. 'Fletcher and Borini linking wellpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 3 October 2015

    Sunderland 2-0 West Ham

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on Final Score

"They have linked up well, Fletcher and Borini. But Borini, what an opportunity to put that game to bed at 3-0. Instead that next goal is now very important."

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:42

    Sunderland 2-0 West Ham

I can't really believe I'm writing this but Sunderland could be 6-0 up! Fabio Borini is again a yard wide of the target after some cracking link-up play.

  12. goal

GOAL- Man City 1-1 Newcastlepublished at 15:41

    Sergio Aguero (42 mins)

Yep, Newcastle needed more than one goal when they were on top as Manchester City equalise. Lovely build-up to the goal as David Silva lofts a pass to Fernandinho at the far post and he heads back across goal for Sergio Aguero to head in.

A first goal in 465 Premier League minutes for the striker. Floodgates to open?

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:39

    Sunderland 2-0 West Ham

Was that the game? Sunderland put together a wonderful move as Ola Toivonen and Yann M'Vila combine to send in Fabio Borini. His first touch takes him away from the last man, just roll it in!

But no, he shoots wide. Huge chance.

  14. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 3 October 2015

    Man City 0-1 Newcastle

    Jimmy Armfield
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

"Tim Krul hasn't had much to do and that will be the worrying thing for Pellegini. They are just not making the chances they were earlier in the season."

  15. Third-time luckypublished at 15:37

    Bournemouth 1-0 Watford

Glenn Murray (27) went close on a couple of occasions before his first goal for the Cherries. It came following good build-up from the hosts too.

    Man City 0-1 Newcastle

Steve McClaren always enjoyed facing City as Middlesbrough boss, and he is so far with Newcastle too...

Dennis Ethan: Steve McClaren is unbeaten against Man City. Remember his time at Riverside?

Daniel Osunbor: I still don't know how Newcastle find it difficult to win matches this season. They've got a good team.

Jay: If Newcastle get three more goals, Crystal Palace will go up to second!

  17. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:35

    Aston Villa 0-0 Stoke

Stoke momentarily celebrate as Marko Arnautovic volleys them ahead - but the flag is up!

The Zlatan of the Potteries is raging at the linesman, fuming, and he may have a point. There was certainly no 'daylight' there...

  18. Postpublished at 15:34

    Man City 0-1 Newcastle

Steve McClaren had his hands on his head when Aleksandar Mitrovic, through on goal, saw his shot denied by Joe Hart. The Newcastle boss knows that was a big chance and a second goal would be useful as Sergio Aguero strokes a low effort just, just wide of the far post. So close.

  19. Football League latestpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 3 October 2015

In League Two, Calum O'Dowda's goal is the difference between Oxford and Accrington, in favour of the former, Luton and Bristol Rovers are 1-0 up, at Hartlepool and Morecambe respectively and Matt McClure has cancelled out Malvind Benning's opener to make it Dagenham and Redbridge 1-1 Mansfield. Sammy Moore's goal has given Leyton Orient a 1-0 lead over Notts County.

I bring more bad news for Norwich fans - playmaker Wes Hoolahan is down and having treatment on his foot. Looks in some pain...
