Newcastle are knocking on the door. Moussa Sissoko has space on the edge of the box to shoot from Massadio Haidara's pull-back but he flashes his effort across goal and wide.

Ah, and then Sunderland go and hit the post! Jordi Gomez shoots low from a tight angle and thumps the woodwork. Reckon home keeper Artur Boruc would have stopped it though if the Spaniard's shot was going to creep in.

Bafetimbi Gomis is a man in form and he comes close to scoring the opener at the Liberty Stadium with an acrobatic effort from the edge of the box that flies into the arms of Tim Howard. The striker then goes clear and has just Howard to beat but puts his effort wide.

Any sign of a Sunderland comeback? Not really. The Black Cats are enjoying some possession inside the Bournemouth half, but don't look like clawing their way back into the game.

Papiss Cisse has a superb chance to bring Newcastle level after holding his run to stay offside and collecting a pass in space on the edge of the box but his low drive flashes a yard past the post. 

Everton almost score the first goal at Swansea as Romelu Lukaku looks to curl a free-kick but sees it deflect off the wall and wide.

Not much goalmouth action to describe at the Britannia at the moment. Leicester, as you would imagine from a side sitting pretty in second, looking the likeliest to score.

Chances at both ends at St James' Park. Odion Ighalo has acres of room to have a shot from the edge of the box but hammers it wide. That could have been much worse for the home side. At the other end Heurelho Gomes makes a bit of a hash of claiming the ball, sparking a scramble, but the keeper recovers to leap on Papiss Cisse's goalbound poke.

Swansea 0-0 Everton

Andre Ayew goes down in the box following a clash of heads with Phil Jagielka. The Everton defender is on his feet but the Swans man is down and looks in trouble.

Almost the perfect start for the Albion! Record signing Salomon Rondon nips ahead of Villa defender Joleon Lescott - former team-mates for the briefest of spells - to stick his head on Chris Brunt's delicious left-wing cross. But the header is straight at Villa keeper Brad Guzan who palms away the danger.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho : "Good victory, we need to win matches. We won twice in three days, we kept two clean sheets. We controlled the matches.

"I don't have a view on the sending off. Man of the match for sure was Diego Costa. He brought everything to the game."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "I would not like to be Mike Dean tonight. Costa twice should be sent off. He hits him in the face in purpose. In every game he has aggravation and he gets away with it because of the weakness of the referee. We knew before the game he is only looking at that.

"Gabriel should not have responded at all but the two sending offs for us and Costa staying on the pitch is a shame."
