He may have shanked one free-kick about 300 yards over the bar during that first half, but Jonjo Shelvey is the only player on the pitch to have a 100% passing success rate so far. England class?

Stoke have looked very, very comfortable. The right team is ahead. I have found it quite entertaining. It's been intriguing watching some of their play. I don't feel let down but I am a bit mystified by the lack of movement from Swansea.

The 'as it stands' table makes better viewing for Stoke than Swansea. The Potters - officially better than Chelsea.

There has been absolutely no quality from Swansea whatsoever from either wing. The worrying thing for Swansea is the manner they have performed so far. It's been a long way shy of what we imagined.

  6. HALF-TIME - Swansea 0-1 Stokepublished at 20:47

Boos, presumably for the referee, from the Swansea fans as both sets of players come off for half-time.

And right on cue after Kimmy's tweet, Moduo Barrow is fouled by Stoke defender Erik Pieters - who is booked.

That might be a bit of frustration from Ashley Williams. It's not an elbow but it is a forearm into the back of the head. It is a booking and he knows it. Swansea have just not got going.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 41 mins

But seconds later Swansea captain Ashley Williams enters yellowtown for catching Joselu with his arm as they went up for a header - a small bit harsh. It wasn't intentional or very dangerous.

Angel Rangel gets a lengthy chat from the referee but escapes a booking for his angry reaction to Marko Arnautovic putting his hand in his face.

If Joselu had scored that overhead kick about five minutes ago it would have been one of the great Premier League goals. Not only was it an overhead kick from the edge of the area, but it came at the end of a lengthy passing move.

You didn't get that kind of thing under Tony Pulis, Stoke fans.

Stoke forward Marko Arnautovic does well to keep the ball under pressure on the edge of the box and squares it to Charlie Adam, but the Scot screws his shot horribly wide from about 25 yards out. He'd probably have scored if it had been on the halfway line.

Jefferson Montero just does not track the run and Glen Johnson goes across him. He scuffs it wide from a really good angle when he just needs to hit the target.

  17. Postpublished at 36 mins

Good move by Stoke as Xherdan Shaqiri plays a great reverse ball to Glen Johnson, who charges into the box and drags his shot well wide. A poor effort from the (former?) England right-back.

Jonjo Shelvey crosses in a corner but Jack Butland holds onto it. Andre Ayew is back on the pitch by the way. Crisis over for Swans fans.

Every time I look at my stats monitor (yes, that's a thing), Stoke's average positions are about five yards deeper than they were before. By half-time they'll be behind their own goal.
