"We had Guppy, Impey, Heskey, Lennon in my Leicester side. We finished seventh in the Premier League and won a trophy.

"I think the Premier League was stronger in my day, and my Leicester team was slightly better than the current one. But let's see where these finish at the end of the season."

    Stoke 0-0 Chelsea

Goalless at the break at the Britannia. Plenty of needle on the pitch.

Jamie Vardy undoubtedly deserves a game through the middle for England but Roy Hodgson basically said that he should count himself lucky to even be in the squad this week.

  5. 'Vardy should start as a centre-forward for his country'published at 18:14

    Leicester 2-1 Watford

    Robbie Savage
Former Leicester and Wales midfielder on 606, BBC Radio 5 live

"Considering where Leicester now find themselves, they could quite easily be in the top six by the end of the season. The way they attack, with 25 goals already this campaign, means they have a real opportunity.

"And Jamie Vardy should be asking Roy Hodgson to play down the middle for England. He should start as a centre-forward for his country."

  7. 'I'd be very worried if was a Bournemouth supporter'published at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2015

    Bournemouth 0-1 Newcastle

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle and England captain on 5 live Sport

"As a Newcastle fan I don't really care how we managed to win that! After the run they have been on it was just about getting the three points. Actually, they were pretty poor but the goalkeeper was just outstanding.

"They have had a few good games recently, they didn't perform today but they won and that's football.

"I'd be very worried if was a Bournemouth supporter. They had so much possession and created so many chances, but they just did not look like scoring the goal. That would worry me."

  8. 'I told Jesse to take a touch'published at 18:01

    Man Utd 2-0 West Brom

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal speaks to BBC Sport about goalscorer Jesse Lingard: "How Jesse finished was remarkable. In a training session this week he had two chances like this and he shoots at once and I told him he needs to take a touch before the shot, which he did today

"I give every player a chance – always. When you are in my squad I will give you a chance. He grabbed it with both hands."

  9. 'He should let it hit him on the forehead'published at 17:57

    Man Utd 2-0 West Brom

West Brom boss Tony Pulis tells BBC Sport: "After half-time the game opened up and we got more into it but the first goal is poor from us. It’s a great finish. After that I thought we got into the game and the chance (for Saido Berahino) - if there's a guy you want it to drop then it's Saido. He seems to duck his head but he should just let it hit him on the forehead. If it has to come off your nose it has to come off your nose.

"I thought today in the last 20 mins he could play a part. Unfortunately he missed the chance we needed. I’m disappointed for the players - most my sides don’t lack effort and commitment - we've just switched off and been punished. Gareth McAuley (for the red card and penalty) should have stayed on his feet and if the kid scores the kid scores."

  11. 'I'm told McCarthy should have seen red'published at 17:52

    West Ham 1-1 Everton

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic: "I didn't see the tackle [by James McCarthy on Dimitri Payet], but people told me it should have been a red card. I will have to look at it again. But our player has been injured. I don't know how bad it is, but it was bad enough that he couldn't finish the game.

"Then Enner Valencia came on and was injured too. Until we get the scan, we don't know how bad it's going to be. We hope that both players will be OK for the Spurs game after the international break.

"But many times, I've been told it's going to be OK, and then I get a call late at night, I speak to the physio and I learn it's going to be six to eight weeks. So we will see."

  12. 'We had to get something today'published at 17:50 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2015

Norwich goalscorer Jonny Howson speaking to Match of the Day: "I haven't scored many headers in my career! It was more just a reaction from me, being in the right place at the right time.

"We've been thinking our performances haven't been too bad, but we knew the bottom line today was that, even playing ugly, we had to get something today. And keeping a clean sheet gives us a platform to build from, especially at home."

  13. 'You need patience'published at 17:47

    Man Utd 2-0 West Brom

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal tells BBC Sport: "Everybody knows who has played football that the most difficult way to score is against a very defensive team. The space is only at the wings and we have tried to do that.

"The only way you can play against such a defensive, organised team is the way we do it, you need patience. In the second half West Brom are more tired and the chances come. The goal changed the game, we had more space. Then you can see the qualities of Anthony Martial, and we score the second goal out of his actions."

    Stoke 0-0 Chelsea

The first 15 minutes have seen Stoke left-back Erik Pieters have his nose re-arranged by Pedro in an accidental clash, Diego Costa have a ruck with Ryan Shawcross and Costa then go close to converting a cross at the back post.

  15. 'We want to attack'published at 17:43

    Man Utd 2-0 West Brom

Manchester United goalscorer Juan Mata tells BBC Sport: "I think we played good football in the first half – in the second half we had problems. But it’s the perfect result going into the international break. We knew they would come and defend and then look for Salomon Rondon on the counter. We were patient enough. Obviously we want to attack – sometimes you can’t because of the opponent."

We are playing with fear and we need to get rid of that. In the end we have gifted it to Southampton. We need to pass the ball better. Our passing in possession was poor and I think it's the fear of the position we are in. It could have been a point, it could have been a point at West Brom. That's two points. We have to do better and cut out the silly mistakes. At the moment we are not good enough."

  20. 'We were the most threatening team'published at 17:33

    Norwich 1-0 Swansea

Norwich manager Alex NeilImage source, PA

Norwich manager Alex Neil talking to BBC Sport: "We created the best chances in the game and kept it tight at the back. It certainly wasn’t one of our best performances of the season, but it was up there in terms of defensive organisation.

"I thought we were the most threatening team in the game, no question - we could have scored more.

"I’m delighted for the win and really delighted for the players. Our confidence has never been in question, but we needed to ensure we got points on the board.

"Next week no-one will talk about the nature of the performance, just that we won the game."
