  1. 'Massive three points'published at 17:39 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2015

    Watford

Watford captain and Birmingham City fan Troy Deeney on scoring against Villa “I cant explain how good that was.

"Their fans gave me stick all the way through, which lets me know I am doing something right.

"It was a tough game and we showed real character. They rallied to come back but we got those two goals. These are games we have to win against teams that are in and around us. It is a massive three points. We pressed hard up the pitch and managed the game well."

On his celebration: "I slid on my knees, everyone does that, it's football, we get caught up in the emotion. I do not think I offended anyone, you should have heard what the crowd were saying to me, but I am thick skinned and can take it and am more interested in taking three points."

  2. 'We made too many mistakes'published at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2015

    Man City 3-1 Southampton

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman: “We had a bad start. If you make those kind of mistakes against City, you lose the game. We made them strong because we lost so many balls when building up from the back. You can’t win if you play at that level.

“At least in the second half we played good football. We kept the ball much more than in the first 20 minutes. We had a big chance through Dusan Tadic to make it 2-2. These are key moments to get something out of the game.

“We had good ball possession and that has to be one of our strengths. But for the first 20 minutes, it was very poor.

“The referee wasn’t better for one side than the other but he made very strange decisions. It’s not influenced the final result, but sometimes I was surprised by some of the decisions.

“It took too long to patch up Jose Fonte, which is why I took him off. His knee is OK. He will be OK for next Wednesday.”

Goodbye premier league. It's been 23 years, we have really added to the league in some years but have been treading water for the last six, we deserve to go down and have no chance now.

Eddie Howe reacting in the tunnel to his Bournemouth side's draw: "That was a crazy ending to a really competitive and tight game. The despair we felt on conceding that third goal was as bad as I've known, and the elation at scoring our third was the greatest I've ever known. It just shows what a powerful sport football is.

"I felt for large parts of the game we dominated, though we lost our way for a bit and conceded two goals. From our perspective, in recent times we have performed really well.

"We've got a point today against a very good team, and we feel that we're building momentum."

  6. 'We lacked that instinct to put the game to bed'published at 17:28

    Bournemouth 3-3 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez in the tunnel at Bournemouth: "Our first-half performance was very good. We were in control, dominant and scored two goals. But in the second half we lost control, though you must expect the home side to come at you.

"We lacked that instinct to put the game to bed. With a two-goal lead you feel very comfortable. After the equaliser we showed good character to score a third. But it was a massive, massive blow to concede so late in the game, and it's a feeling of dropping two points.

"As a team we just had to control the final moments, and we should have expected Bournemouth to put balls into the box.

"I don't know why the referee allowed play to continue for so long, but maybe it was luck for Bournemouth which they haven't had all season.

"The third goal should have been enough for us to win the match. You can imagine, the dressing room is a place of real disappointment, which is something we now have to get over."

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: “Kun [Aguero] came off as a precaution. I spoke with him before the game and we said he would play 65 minutes. He has a kick in his heel, but nothing important.

“I was very pleased with the team's reaction. It was important to get three points against a team who were unbeaten away. We were a little nervous until the third goal, but I’m happy with the performance and the result.

“There were a lot of decisions that happened today that I didn’t like. It was difficult for the referee because he made too many mistakes.

“We must try to recover the players for Tuesday. It’s important for us to reach the semi-final of the League Cup."

  12. 'We caused problems everywhere!'published at 17:17

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew to Sky Sports:

"It was a poor goal we conceded, unusually for us, but the response and the performance was outstanding.

"We caused problems everywhere. Connor Wickham gave a centre forward's performance we always hoped he would. We were irresistible today.

"We are sixth in the division because we are a good team, it was not about the opposition today. I have a lot of friends and family at Newcastle but I don't want to say a lot about them because I get criticised whatever I say."

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on Final Score

"I thought Ross Barkley had won it for Everton, but let's give credit to Eddie Howe. He made three substitutions in the second half and told his Bournemouth side to just go for it. Fantastic.

"A brilliant game, credit to both sides and credit to both managers. That result will take the Cherries above Newcastle, so it's momentum.

"These sorts of results can make such a difference, because Bournemouth were dead and buried until the 98th minute of the game."

Last-gasp Bournemouth goalscorer Junior Stanislas speaking in the tunnel at Vitality Stadium: "I managed to get on the end of that ball, and that result feels like a win.

"We've played really well in recent games without having a cutting edge. Today we managed to get ourselves back into the game.

"We've been playing good football but if we look at the players we have we have to stick to our philosophy. Put in good performances and we'll get results."

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph: "It was a very important game. We needed to bounce back. We managed to do that and get the three points. It was about giving the reaction to the manager. We did that today, and we’ll go home happy. It was very sweet to get my first goal, and I hope things can keep pushing on.

“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me because it’s been stop-start, but training with these players can only help me. Football has ups and downs but we’ve got more than enough quality in the locker to bounce back from difficult weeks."
