  1. Chelsea 1-0 Sunderlandpublished at 18:20

Beth Mead is bobbing and weaving after collecting possession outside the box.

She forces a corner, but Chelsea clear with Katie Chapman heading strongly.

  2. Chelsea clean sheetspublished at 18:19

    Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland

Anchored by Sweden international goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl, Chelsea have proved to be a tough nut to crack, defensively, all season.

With a record like that, can Sunderland fightback now to rock the boat?

Nikita Parris sends her shot over the head of goalkeeper Carly Telford after Natasha Harding sent a cross into the box.

City lead 1-0, but at the moment it won't be enough to deny Chelsea the title.

  4. Chelsea 1-0 Sunderlandpublished at 18:16

Chelsea's mettle was questioned last season when they missed out on the title on the final day.

They proved in the Women's FA Cup that they can perform on the big stage and in the early exchanges today they look composed and focused on claiming a maiden title.

Sunderland have not threatened to pull a goal back, while Chelsea are attacking in waves.

"Wow, that should settle any Chelsea nerves. And oh did the crowd love that!

"Eniola Aluko's pace over 10 yards there was the key. She left Sunderland right-back Abby Holmes in her dust, and squared it so nicely for Ji, she could hardly miss. Simple, simple goal."

As it stands Chelsea are having all the say on the title race, but it is worth reminding readers that we are 80 minutes from this title being decided once and for all.

Notts County pose a potentially huge problem for Manchester City today, as the Lady Magpies have form for intensifying final-day dramatics.

Last season they held title-chasing Birmingham City to a 2-2 draw on the last day - a result that cost Blues a Champions League spot as well as the title.

Man City know exactly how difficult Notts can be after they fought back from two goals down to snatch a point in August. The draw ended the Sky Blues' seven-game winning run.

  7. CLOSE!published at 18:13

"Manchester City midfielder Jill Scott sees her volleyed shot headed off the line by County's Sophie Walton."

City have been on top in the early stages - wonder how that early Chelsea goal has gone down in the north west?

  8. Not a pretty picture for Sunderlandpublished at 18:12

The Lady Black Cats have really come home poorly this season.

Sunderland have done enough to finish fourth in their first season in WSL 1, but there is a strong feeling that it could have been an extra special campaign for the Lady Black Cats if not for an horrendous late-season run.

They have claimed just two points since going top of the table with a 4-1 win over Bristol Academy on 25 July.

It is a run that also saw them fail to reach the knock-out stage of the Continental Cup.

It was clinical, decisive by Eni Aluko and you can give Ji that amount of time in the box.

Chelsea have really gone after Sunderland on the left wing and it is Eniola Aluko who crosses for Ji So-Yun who coolly side-foots home from point-blank range.

That is a huge step towards securing the title for Chelsea.

  11. Chelsea 0-0 Sunderlandpublished at 18:10

All the attacking with Chelsea as they don't look fazed by the enormity of the occassion.

A fine ball is put through the middle but runs too far for Katie Chapman. The Blues are poised to strike and want to hit the Lady Black Cats early it seems.

  12. goal

    GOAL (Weir)published at 18:09

    Bristol Academy 1-0 Liverpool

The first goal of the day goes to Caroline Weir, who puts relegated Bristol ahead against Liverpool.

  13. Chelsea 0-0 Sunderlandpublished at 18:08

Eniola Aluko is off in a flash up the left wing and she is taken down. Free-kick in a dangerous area for Sunderland to defend.

The ball is floated long, but Gilly Flaherty doesn't get enough on it to threaten.

  14. Chelsea 0-0 Sunderlandpublished at 18:08

Compared to the other league games I have seen Chelsea play here at Wheatsheaf Park this season, there is far more noise about the place tonight.

It is a relatively good crowd too, with the stand on the far side almost full, as well as all seats being taken in the main stand, and fans are standing all round the pitch, with no gaps.

People want to see history being made.

Keep an eye out for the mite-sized England striker for Chelsea...

Fran Kirby has averaged four goals every three games over the course of this season, including her time with Reading in Women's Super League Two.

Seems to be a sedate crowd watching Chelsea at Staines Town.

Sunderland had the ball in the attacking back early and Chelsea break for the first real attack with Fran Kirby threatening with a blocked shot.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:03

    Chelsea 0-0 Sunderland

The whistle to get us underway rings across the nation as all four WSL 1 games get underway simultaneously.

Seemed to be a long pause, heightening the anticipation for this one.

What can you say about Chelsea that we already know? They're a force to be reckoned with and if they go on to win the league, they'll have thoroughly deserved it.
