  1. And if it is all square?published at 17:59

    Chelsea v Sunderland (18:00 BST)

Just so you know. If Chelsea and City finish level on points, goals scored and goal difference, a play-off will decide the Women's Super League title.

Moons, planets and stars will need to align in a cosmic conspiracy for this to happen, but it is certainly a real possibility considering the results we have seen this season so far.

Should Chelsea win today, it would cap a memorable year for a team which had never won a major trophy only a few months ago.

  5. All or nothing for Man Citypublished at 17:52

Manchester City v Notts County (18:00 BST)

Champions League football beckons and the WSL title could be Manchester City's today. That is the most glorious of outcomes for the Sky Blues.

But really, nothing is remotely theirs yet.

The title equation has been spelled out already, and at the very least they need to get a draw to assure themselves of a second-place finish to ensure Women's Champions League football for the first time ever.

The day and week could also turn very sour if they lose and results go against them, leaving Manchester City with nothing in 2015.

Already this week they lost hold of the Continental Tyres Cup, having been beaten by Arsenal in their re-arranged quarter final on Thursday.

The hastily organised fixture drew the ire of City boss Nick Cushing, who labelled the Football Association "disrespectful".

The tie was re-arranged after City were cleared of fielding an ineligible player, with the FA saying it might have lost the registration form.

"We're a professional football team trying to drive this game on and that's not good enough," said Cushing.

"On Monday morning when we gave the players the day off, we thought we had Notts County in six days."

While their last Champions League appearance came last year, if results do not all go in Arsenal's favour today they will miss out on a third successive Champions League campaign.

The way in which the WSL season is scheduled, Champions League berths are effectively decided for English clubs a year in advance.

The equation is simple today, Arsenal need to beat Birmingham City, Manchester City have to lose and there needs to be a six-goal swing along the way to see the Gunners finish second in the table.

Somewhat ironically, Arsenal's last Champions League tie was their quarter-final exit to Birmingham City.

We will bring goal updates to you here today as we stay with Chelsea v Sunderland as the main event.

Matt Beard takes charge of his final Women's Super League match as Liverpool manager today, before leaving to take over as Boston Breakers head coach in the USA's National Women's Soccer League.

But the 37-year-old is not vacating his office at the Reds right away as he is set to guide Liverpool into the opening stage of the Champions League next week. Then there is the Continental Cup, in which Liverpool host Notts County in their semi-final in seven days' time.

Like Arsenal v Birmingham City, we will bring you goal updates from Stoke Gifford Stadium where Liverpool face relegated Bristol.

Bristol Academy spent the entire season at the bottom of the table and their relegation to WSL 2 was confirmed with a heavy 6-1 defeat by Manchester City last week.

The Vixens, who beat Barcelona in the Champions League to reach the quarter-finals this year, got their campaign off to a rough start as they crashed out of Europe's top club competition with a 12-0 aggregate loss to eventual champions Frankfurt.

Bad quickly turned into worse as they went out of the Women's FA Cup to WSL 2 side Everton before their league campaign had even got going.

There was a change at the top with Dave Edmondson replaced by Willie Kirk as manager. And while the Scotsman guided them to a league win over Notts County and into the knock-out stage of the Continental Cup, there was no way of salvaging their campaign.

Vixens chairman Simon Arnold said the days of competing for silverware - having twice reached the FA Cup final and Champions League in the past five years - are probably behind them as investment from Premier League clubs has put an elite few on a "different planet".

Team news from the Academy Stadium coming shortly. But let's first look at the meteoric rise of Manchester City.

Their induction into Women's Super League One in 2014 was a controversial move by the Football Association as their first ever season of top-flight women's football came at the expense of Doncaster Rovers Belles - a club that was among the founding members of the national Premier League in 1991.

City failed to challenge for their league title last season, finishing fifth, but they did collect their first ever piece of silverware - the Continental Cup.

The big team news today is that Eniola Aluko will start for Chelsea. There was serious doubt after she hobbled off injured in their 4-0 win over Liverpool last week.
