I think we’re a long way off being Bayern’s equals. We shouldn’t start thinking we’ve closed the gap. That’s unrealistic, but we’ve shown we can keep up with Bayern on a good day. We need to keep getting at them. If all you do when you go to Munich is park the bus, you’ll inevitably concede a goal at some point.

Two of the most under-pressure La Liga managers will get a chance today to either improve their situation - or make it worse.

David Moyes's Real Sociedad have two points from four games so far - they visit fellow strugglers Granada at 21:00 BST. Up next for Moyes is the Basque derby with Athletic Bilbao by the way.

And Valencia fans have been unhappy with boss Nuno despite their unbeaten start - his seventh placed side go to Espanyol, in eighth, at 19:00 BST.

It's Oktoberfest in Munich at the moment, but Bayern coach Pep Guardiola isn't too worried. Or so he says anyway.

My players are very professional. I trust them. It would be their problem. If your legs are tired, you don’t play well, and if they don’t play well, they’re not in the team for the next game. I’m not their father, I’m their coach – and obviously not their mother either. I’m not there to control them.

Wolfsburg lift Super CupImage source, AP

Wolfsburg are starting to prove something of a bogey team for Bayern Munich.

They beat them 4-1 in their last league meeting in January, and beat them on penalties in the German Super Cup this summer.

But last season's runners-up and cup winners have never come away from Bayern Munich with a win. Is tonight the night that changes?
