    Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle

Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a bit euphoric to be fair, the fans have been unbelievable sticking with us. The lads were amazing and after last week, we had to make sure we didn't take our foot off the gas. The boys who came on to score the goals have been a bit unlucky not to play from the start. When we all play together you see what happens."

Newcastle goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic to Sky Sports: "I've worked hard and waited for my moment. I've worked with the fitness coach every day when I came on he said I was going to score. It was a goal for him today. Rob, too was on fire."

And Tottenham, what of them? Was that a key sign in whether they can break into the top four? Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal must be grinning from ear to ear.

Tottenham look for a response but I'm not sure there is time left. What a turnaround, both Newcastle subs have scored.

    Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 Live at White Hart Lane

"Fully deserved. Newcastle been the more ambitious side in this second half.

"Tottenham had completely run out of ideas. They've now put Toby Alderweireld up front."

    Ayoze Perez

It's even more disappointing now. The ball is headed through to Ayoze Perez, who chests it down and slams it toward goal under the diving Hugo Lloris. The Spurs keeper should have done better there.

    Tottenham 1-1 Newcastle

A increasingly rare attack for Tottenham fizzles out as the ball by Nacer Chadli runs out of play. Disappointing end to this game by Spurs.

"That is a whisker away! I can't believe he's missed that. How? What a chance to win the game."

  17. CLOSE!published at 90 mins

    Tottenham 1-1 Newcastle

Should be a winner for Newcastle. Moussa Sissoko crosses from the right and I don't know how Aleksandar Mitrovic has missed this. He's six yards out, a yard from the ball and somehow did not connect.

Alas, it's played short and is eventually cleared. Tottenham are on the break now but Newcastle retreat and block Dele Alli's shot which spoons towards Rob Elliot in the Newcastle goal.

    Tottenham 1-1 Newcastle

Newcastle forward Aleksandar Mitrovic and Spurs midfielder Dele Alli are now head to head, but referee Roger East plays it sensibly, has a word and they shake hands. Interesting.
