So, Gary Neville will officially take charge of Valencia on Sunday with a smile on his face after seeing his new side battle from behind to hold champions Barcelona to a draw. Neville's first match in charge is on Wednesday when his side host Lyon in the Champions League. Many thanks for your company. 

There's still another 10 minutes left in Milan where Inter still lead Genoa. If they hang on then they will return to the top of Serie A. A match report from that game will appear on the BBC Sport website later.

Bad day for Barcelona. Those missed chances in the first half have cost them. Their lead at the top of La Liga is down to two points. Barca have 34 points from 14 games while Atletico Madrid have 32. Real Madrid, who are third, are now just four points behind the leaders.

Great fightback by Valencia as Barcelona's six-match winning run in La Liga comes to an end. Gary Neville has a terrific platform to build on. 

Valencia carelessly concede possession and here come Barcelona. The ball falls for Lionel Messi on the edge of the area and he pulls the trigger...and the keeper saves. A terrific finish to the game.

It is a daunting leap from punditry into coaching and management, but Gary Neville is someone who always seemed destined to make his long-term career in the latter, even if this current time away from the studio turns out to be only temporary.  

One of the questions asked of elite players who make the move into management is whether they can they cope with handling players who may not have the same drive, attitude and approach as themselves.

Neville has his standards but will also be a realist. He will accept honest failings but not a lack of professionalism. He speaks the language of players so relating to them should not be a problem.

Big news from Italy where Inter Milan have broken the deadlock against Genoa through Adem Ljajic. There's still around 25 minutes to go but if Inter secure three points they are heading back to the top of Serie A.

We're 12 minutes from the end of normal time and Valencia have just had their first serious chance on target, Rodrigo De Paul forcing Claudio Bravo to scramble across his line to keep out.

Valencia's Danilo is the latest to be booked for illegally stopping Lionel Messi in his tracks. 

Brilliant by Neymar as he embarks on a mazy run, past one white shirt and then another. He reaches the edge of Valencia's penalty area before unleashing a curling shot that fizzes just wide. Make no mistake. that would have been a goal of the season contender had that hit the net.

Bad news for Gary Neville. He will be missing his captain Dani Parejo when the team travels to face Eibar next week after the Valencia midfielder is booked for a cynical foul on Luis Suarez. Parejo is suspended under the totting up procedure.

This is too comfortable for Barcelona. The teams might be separated by one goal but Valencia do not look like getting back into this.

It has gone very quiet inside the Mestalla. Barcelona have the lead and they are controlling play.It's going to require something special for Valencia to get back into this.

That was a fine finish by Luis Suarez. But Valencia will be unhappy the former Liverpool forward is still on the pitch after replays of his altercation with Aymen Abdennour appears to show a stamp.
