    Valencia 0-0 Barcelona

Huge chance for Barcelona. Neymar beats his man far too easily inside the area before teeing up Lionel Messi who fires straight at the keeper. Valencia should be 2-0 down yet, somehow, are still on level terms.

Patient probing from Barca who are bossing this. They're enjoying lots of possession and it seems only a matter of time before they take the lead. Neymar is causing all sorts of problems

    Valencia 0-0 Barcelona

Valencia are unbeaten at home this season in La Liga but they will do well to keep that record judging by this shaky start. Jose Luis Gaya makes a last ditch tackle to stop Lionel Messi.

Valencia are so lucky to be on level terms. Neymar was clean through and you would have put your mortgage on him to find the net but La Liga's leading scorer blazed over.

Barcelona already lookingto land an early blow. Great trickery by Neymar who whips in a cross and Lionel Messi fires over on the volley. Moments later Neymar misses another great chance. Valencia's defence is already wobbling in these early stages.

Whistles every time a yellow shirt touches the ball. This is the Mestalla at its best. Intimidating, atmospheric and loud. Very loud. Steady start by Valencia.

It's been an interesting week and we're all looking forward to Gary coming out and starting the job on Sunday. We have got a massive game against Barcelona. We have a few injuries but we're looking forward to the game. We're playing against the best team in the world and it's nothing we should be fearful about. There is no expectation and we're going to make sure we perform. From a personal point of view these are the type of occasions you look to when you are taking your coaching badges. It's about pitting your wits against the best and there is no one better than Barcelona.

Real Madrid briefly moved above Atletico Madrid into second spot earlier with a comfortable 4-1 win over Getafe, Karim Benzema scoring twice. However, Atletico's 2-0 win away to Granada in a 17:15 GMT kick-off has moved them back above Real and to within one point of leaders Barcelona, Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann with the goals.
