Scott Barclay, external: You only need to look at fergie as living proof.....he would have been long gone in today's game and the competition wasn't as fierce back then either with teams spending five hundred million Arabian bojogles every transfer window.

Andy Gray, external Ranieri probably the most high profile and least deserving of the pre-announced dismissal. The final match goodbye had me welling up and I'm and Spurs fan.

Have you ever played for a manager who knew his time was up? Maybe you have been a boss who knew nothing would be good enough to save his job? Have you ever supported a club with a manager who was a 'dead man walking'?

Cream Hair Design: Winning the treble didn't stop Bayern changing manager to Pep and Pellegrini, while good, hasn't exactly set the world alight.

Most clubs would take what he has achieved...

Don't you just love a cup semi-final night match.

Floodlights, the expectations, the smell of the burgers.

    Beautiful.

Hello and welcome to live radio and text coverage of what should be a cracker.

Is there anything Manuel Pellegrini can do to keep his job though?

With Pep Guardiola leaving Bayern Munich to coach in England, League Cup success on it's own probably wouldn't do it.

But a double? A treble? How about a quadruple? That wouldn't do him any harm surely?

Who would be a football manager? (yep me too)

But - putting aside any envy of those massive wages for a moment - You have to feel a tad sorry for Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini don't you?

He goes into tonight's League Cup semi-final first leg at Everton with his own future very much a talking point.

Is he really just keeping the seat warm for Pep Guardiola's summer arrival?

Put yourself in Manuel Pellegrini's shoes for a minute...

In two seasons in charge, you've won the League Cup and the Premier League.

You've also finished league runners-up and this season are just three points off the top, in the League Cup semi-final and still in the Champions League.

Your reward? The sack - according to the papers anyway.
