GOAL - Aston Villa 1-1 Leicesterpublished at 75 mins

    Rudy Gestede

Aston Villa are level in what resembled a gaelic football goal. Rudy Gestede controls the ball off his hand and has an effort from 20 yards which hits Wes Morgan's hand and flies past Kasper Schmeichel.

No suggestion from me the goal should be disallowed as Gestede didn't mean to handle it.

  2. Huth leading the rearguard actionpublished at 75 mins

That penalty shout aside, Robert Huth is proving pretty defiant.

He's made two blocks (yellow), two interceptions (blue) and three clearances (purple).

Villa haven't been too bad here. Most of the stats indicate they should be level at least - more shots, possession and passes.

But their finishing has been poor. They just lack real quality to be honest.

  4. Postpublished at 73 mins

Villa fans appeal for a penalty as Rudy Gestede's ball hits Danny Drinkwater's side.

I'd say it was worth a try, but not really.

Ritchie de Laet finds fellow Leicester substitute Leonardo Ulloa unmarked on the edge of the box but the Argentine just seems to take his eye off the ball, Leandro Bacuna deserves some credit for putting him under pressure - could have been game over.

Leicester's Riyad Mahrez comes off on a rare disappointing afternoon as Leonardo Ulloa comes on.

  8. 'That should have been Leicester's second'published at 69 mins

    Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain on BBC Radio Leicester

"A massive opportunity or Leicester, and that should be their second goal. Bunn did well to force Vardy wide, and then Drinkwater arrived. I'm not sure what he was trying to achieve, actually. He should maybe have gone with his head..."

Libor Kozak heads over a free-kick from six yards out, Villa would have wanted that on Rudy Gestede's head.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

Villa bring on big Rudy Gestede up front, tricky winger Carles Gil comes off. No prizes for guessing their strategy for the final quarter of the game.

  11. Postpublished at 67 mins

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy goes round keeper Mark Bunn. A month ago and he rolls this in for 2-0 but he runs it too wide and finds Danny Drinkwater, who fires wide.

  12. Postpublished at 66 mins

This is one of Villa's best chances of the game. Jordan Ayew breaks into the box with a clever piece of skill and he pulls it back to Leandro Bacuna, unmarked, but his effort is straight at keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Villa have had more efforts than Leicester, but not many of them have been very good.

  15. 'That's risky by Huth'published at 63 mins

    Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain on BBC Radio Leicester

"I didn't see Huth elbow him, though he does always play with his arms out from his body. For me, there wasn't enough contact and Kozak has gone down too easily. But to be fair, that's risky by Huth."

As an Oxford fan I love Matty Elliott but he was always a very physical defender...

How's Joleon Lescott's distribution been, I hear you ask?

    Shaky, is the response.

Just 70% of his 46 passes have found a team-mate.
