Nico: Two offside goals, Sir Alex must think he is in charge again!

Dave, Belfast: Was Martial offside? I thought there had to be daylight between the two players.

Ravi: Will winning the FA cup be the catalyst to a new era of Utd dominance again? Watch this space...

Muted applause from the stands as Manchester United complete a win over a tepid Derby County. It was comfortable in the end for Louis van Gaal. Not something he's used to these days.

"Only a matter of time," said our man Danny Murphy. A matter of time for what? For Anthony Martial to tee up the United third.

Here's why. The Frenchman has been the scourge of the Derby defence, tormenting right-back Cyrus Christie as shown by virtually half of away attacks going down that flank.

I'd play Cyrus Christie on the right wing, not at full-back. He is a real menace going forwards, as he beats his man brilliantly but this time can't clear the first defender.

    There are three added minutes.

Andy, Armagh: Anthony Martial is the one glimmer of hope in this difficult season for Manchester United. He has had the Derby County right-back on toast all night. A beautiful footballer to watch, he seems to just glide across the turf.

  7. Offside again?published at 89 mins

Anthony Martial looks to be offside in the build-up to United's third goal. Derby will rue the fact that two of the goals could have been flagged.

Anthony Martial was a shade offside when he received the ball in the build-up to that goal but he had lots to do before the ball hit the net.

Derby will look back on tonight with plenty of regret. They never once had United rocking under sustained pressure - and this United side was there to be shot at.

Here's a thing you don't expect from Louis van Gaal's team - a centre-back marauding into the opposition area.

It worked though. Fine finish from Daley Blind.

"Cyrus Christie has tried his best to contain Anthony Martial without much help but it was only a matter of time. It is so hard to stop him and this time he picked Mata out.

"Lovely awareness from Martial. His final ball hasn't always been right but if you keep getting into positions, then it'll happen."

Stu Richards: Really disappointed with #dcfc this evening. No disgrace in losing this tie but at least give it a good go.

Varun Sharma: If we win it doesn't change our season and our form, we are still poor, the form derby showing we should have scored 3-4 goals!!

David Huntley: Martial and Rooney have looked dangerous but been a poor Derby performance. Haven't pressed Utd high enough to encourage errors

    Juan Mata

Poor old Cyrus Christie. The Derby right-back has been in trouble all night against Anthony Martial and the £36m forward just breezes past him again. This time he has the composure and the quality to find Juan Mata inside and the Spanish midfielder pings it home into the side-netting.

Tie over. Manchester United into the hat.

Cyrus Christie with another brilliant ball in! Bend, whip, it's heading for Chris Martin but well done Chris Smalling as he cuts it out and then holds his calf. Injury?

Derby's changes mean that they will inevitably have fewer bodies back minding the shop and Wayne Rooney almost picks the pocket of Richard Keogh - he would be clear too but a foul is given.

Can the Rams put on enough pressure at the other end?

This is where Daley Blind came from. You can see that the United number 17 had a couple of touches close to the halfway line, the second to Wayne Rooney (10) before getting on his bike into the box. And that's where he met Jesse Lingard's cross to stick the away side ahead.
