  1. Sheff Weds 2-1 Wolvespublished at 14:38

It's been all Wednesday these last few minutes but the visitors should probably be level.

Jordan Graham sends a cross to the back post and Nathan Byrne, not famed for his aerial ability it should be said, can't direct his effort on target from five yards out.

The hosts are all over Wolves now.

The visitors, so dominant in the opening exchanges, have been rocked by those two Fernando Forestieri goals and the Italian nearly scores his third before Daniel Pudil thrashes the rebound over the bar.

Well... I think it's fair to say that the opening 10 minutes did not suggest what was in store for us. The Owls, who were a goal down in the 15th minute, are 2-1 up in the 25th and it'sFernando Forestieriagain. The former Watford man connects well with a half volley inside the area and a slight deflection sees the ball in the Wolves net for the second time in six minutes.

Well, that Wolves lead didn't last long did it? Four minutes after the visitors took the lead from the spot the Owls are level from 12 yards. Home striker Lucas Joao goes down in the area and Italian forward Fernando Forestieri slots home his seventh of the season.

  9. goal

    GOAL (Afobe)published at 14:17

    Sheff Weds 0-1 Wolves

Ross Wallace fouled Matt Doherty in the area and Benik Afobe, who had a not particularly successful loan spell with the Owls in 2014, slotted the ball confidently to the goalkeeper's left.

Wolves lead 1-0 with Afobe's 10th goal of the season.

  10. Sheff Weds 0-0 Wolvespublished at 14:14

Not a great deal to report just at the moment as we head towards the 15th minute.

Wolves probably still just about on top but they've not forced Owls keeper Keiren Westwood into a meaningful save yet.

  11. Sheff Weds 0-0 Wolvespublished at 14:09

Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri tries to bend one for the corner but directs his effort too close to Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme.

At the other end Wolves dangerman Benik Afobe thinks he's in on goal but the assistant's flag is up before James Henry tries a chip that goes just over the Wednesday bar.

Brian McDermott has arrived at the Madejski Stadium ahead of the first match of his second spell as Reading manager.

    Team news to come shortly.

  13. Sheff Weds 0-0 Wolvespublished at 14:05

Both teams are looking to bounce back after defeats in midweek.

A Sheffield Wednesday win would see them spend Christmas close to the play-off places while a Wolves win would move them up to 11th.

It's the visitors who have made the brighter start so far with the hosts guilty of over-playing in their own half on a couple of occasions.

Sheffield Wednesday v Wolves (14:00 GMT)

Sizeable investment in the squad and the positive impact of new boss Carlos Carvalhal have propelled Sheffield Wednesday into a position where they could challenge for promotion this season.

Despite failing to win any of their last four games, the Owls will start Sunday's home game against Wolves four points away from a play-off spot.

"I never go to a game and say I will try to draw," Carvalhal told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"Sometimes we play better, sometimes we don't start so good. But we will always try to win the game."

  17. What's going wrong at Wolves?published at 13:54

Sheffield Wednesday v Wolves (14:00 GMT)

It's hard work being a Wolves fan right now.

Kenny Jackett's side missed out on a play-off place on goal difference last season, and many expected a similar promotion challenge in 2015-16. But that hasn't materialised.

Thursday's 3-2 home defeat by Leeds ended a five-match unbeaten run, but Wanderers are 17th in the table and they've only won one of their last seven games going into today's game at Sheffield Wednesday.

Jackett told BBC WM 95.6: "When you get a key period like December, where there are so many games on top of each other, we have to make sure we're pushing up.

"We've just had two home games for which we've got one point. We're disappointed with that and we're looking to improve."
