France's star man Paul Pogba see his name in the headlines but fluffs his lines.

The ball drops nicely from the Paris air for the Juventus man to smash at goal, but he miscues and Romania can clear the ball.

Olivier Giroud is very clumsy up top for France. He takes an age to get the ball under his spell, almost as though he's been given a fault wand.

The Arsenal striker has completed two passes in the match so far, and one of those was from kick-off.

Wonder what Karim Benzema is thinking on holiday? Will he be watching.

Moses Govender: Is Giroud on the field? He & Griezman chalk and cheese.

Johnny Magrinho: As good as Pogba, Payet & Griezman have been, Evra has been shocking. I'd rather play three at the back than have him involved.

France's shaky defending at the back continues.

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is oh, so lucky to get away with this.

A high ball drops on the edge of the box which Cordoba striker Florin Andone is quickest to react to and he is chopped by the France centre-back and tumbles to the floor.

Much to the Romanian players' consternation, the referee waves play on.

Koscielny and Adil Rami don't fill you with any confidence, an accident waiting to happen.

"Razvan Rat went to sleep which allowed Payet to get behind him. He fired it into Griezmann. It's on target and took a deflection. How the fifth official didn't see it stood behind the goal, I don't know."

In a flash, France create a chance.

Dimitri Payet escapes the attention of left-back Razvan Rat and smashes in a calculated ball into the box which Antoine Griezmann gets on the end of, but the Atletico Madrid man's effort flies agonisingly wide.

It rippled the side netting and half of the Stade de France crowd thought it was in.

Romania are tight at the back but don't have much going forward - they're content to sit back and let Bogdan Stancu and Florin Andone run the line up front. The two are too isolated though and need the support of their team-mates.

Another French player bringing his club form to the international stage is Dimitri Payet. The West Ham man has provided three key passes so far to help set up chances for the hosts.

A very cheap booking for Romania captain Vlad Chiriches. He doesn't like a refereeing decision and Viktor Kassai is having none of that, taking the former Spurs player's name.

The game is momentarily halted after Romanian midfielder Mihai Pintilii has his ribs trodden on by Blaise Matuidi.

It was accidental and Pintilii gets gingerly back on his feet and is OK to continue.

Paul Pogba, with a Gallic rooster emblazened on the side of his head, looks to break the deadlock with a drive from outside the box, but it's always rising and ends up in the stand behind the Romanian goalkeeper's net.
