The home fans have given France incredible backing so far and they are roaring them forward every time they have the ball.

They are desperate for a goal and the volume is likely to be incredible here if and when they get one - it was loud enough when half the stadium 'ooohed and ahhhed' as the big screens here showed replays of Antoine Griezmann hitting the post.

Romania look neat when they have the ball at their feet. They knock it around nicely along the lush Stade de France turf, but the spell of possession comes to nothing.

Paul Pogba seeing plenty of the ball now for France and the Juventus man is looking to set the tempo.

They fail to get it away and Antoine Griezmann poked his head in, but the ball comes back off the post.

France look a bit shocked by that start from Romania and will want to get their foot on the ball.

They work it from right to left - via Paul Pogba's crossfield ball - and Antoine Griezmann's shot is deflected away.

The boisterous French support has already been silenced. All very quiet inside Stade de France and we've barely played 10 minutes.

Romania needed a good start to pipe them down and they almost got the perfect opening, but for Hugo Lloris's intervention.

The corner is whipped in and flicked on by a Romania player at the front post and striker Nicolae Stanciu is free a the back post, but his shot from six yards out is superbly blocked by France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Florin Andone then loops a header over the crossbar.
