Penny for Antonio Conte's thoughts later.

Italy's incoming Chelsea boss will get a chance to cast his eye over a player he is about to inherit at Stamford Bridge.

One problem. Belgium's exciting attacking midfielder Eden Hazard is capable of inflicting terrible damage on Italy.

All eyes on Conte's reaction if he does.

Just short of 60,000 are expected inside the Stade de Lyon for game number 10 at Euro 2016.

It is the first of several Euro 2016 matches at the venue, with the Republic of Ireland facing Ukraine here on Thursday.

We've seen some belting goals at Euro 2016 already but Antonio Conte wasn't bad at finding the net in his playing days.

Here's his acrobatic overhead kick for the Azzurri against Turkey at Euro 2000. I wonder if Diego Costa is watching?

A reminder that Group E is up and running with the Republic of Ireland opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Sweden earlier.

Ciaran Clark scored an agonising own goal after Wes Hoolahan gave the Republic the lead in Paris.

There's a big incentive for Belgium and Italy. Whoever wins will go two points clear at the top of the table.

  13. Why Italy need a boostpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 13 June 2016

Why are Italy more successful on the world stage yet stutter in Europe?

The Azzurri have won the World Cup twice - 1982 and 2006 - since their one and only success in the European Championship in 1968.

Domestically, no Serie A club reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League or Europa League in 2015/16 - Italy's worst performance for 15 years.

No wonder Italian football needs a boost in France - starting against Belgium.
