"Really positive start to the second half from England. They have made some positive changes. But you can see how many bodies there are in the box for Wales."

    England 0-1 Wales

This is the most stretched, ragged game you'll see at the Euros. Eric Dier is basically playing in midfield on his own for England as they go flying upfield, chasing the game. Daniel Sturridge runs out of options and flashes a shot over the bar from 30 yards out.

Former Wales striker Nathan Blake on BBC Radio 5 live: "It'll be much of the same from Wales. They'll just sit back, soak up and hit on the counter attack."

Wales need a breather and they get one after a corner flashes through their penalty area. England playing with loads of energy but can they find any quality to go with it?

England manager Roy Hodgson had to act and he has with Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy on for Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling.

This is set up perfectly because Wales have been happy to sit back and hit England on the break - now they have a goal in their locker to aid that strategy.

Adam Lallana now quite central, Daniel Sturridge on the right. We'll call it fluid.

"From England's perspective, I think the fans would rather see a proactive manager than a reactive one. They had a lot of possession in that first half but were slow and that allowed Wales to regain their shape."

Let's try to work out this England formation then. Looks like Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge in a flat front two. At the moment.

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

"Hart should have saved it. It's hugely disappointing after dominating the half for long periods but we didn't make many chances. We have to up the tempo and I'd like to see some changes at half time just to inject some pace into the side.

"I'd like to see Sturridge personally. I spoke to Roy before the game and he said Sturridge has been on fire in training so I think he will go for him first."

  14. 'The goal will give Wales something to hold onto'published at 15:01 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

    England 0-1 Wales

Former Wales striker Ian Rush on BBC One: "Once you score a goal you have to something to hold onto. Wales will get tired and I'm sure they will make changes but the goal was a huge boost to them."

  15. Frenzied Welsh celebrationspublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

The difference between England's furious fans and those in the Welsh end could hardly be more marked.

While Roy Hodgson's men left the field at half-time to the sound of boos, their opponents were given a send-off of frenzied celebrations in the red corner of the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Wales saw precious little of the ball during the first half but thanks to yet another Gareth Bale free-kick - and questionable goalkeeping from Joe Hart - they are 45 minutes away from the last 16 at Euro 2016.

  17. So Roy Hodgson - what have you got?published at 14:57 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Lens

England given a fairly abusive send off by their fans at half-time there - they have been pedestrian and uninspired.

Time for Roy Hodgson to earn his money here. He needs to be positive and inspirational, qualities some doubt he possesses.

As for Joe Hart, No excuses whatsoever - forget notions of a Bale wonder strike. It was routine, and any goalkeeper would have been upset at such a colossal blunder.

I've always thought that England's best players are often those not in the team and from the half-time reaction on social media Jamie Vardy is currently somewhere between Pele and Maradona.

    Will he come on?

"There are not enough questions being asked of the centre-halves. You have to get out wide. Raheem Sterling is not giving the full-back an option."
