    England 0-0 Wales

'OUT! OUT! OUT!' comes the cry from the Welsh bench but it's a call the men in grey can't follow. England camped in the Wales half. Just need that extra bit of quality to find a way through. Wayne Hennessey hasn't had much to do.

"It is another great ball into the box. Smalling just got that extra yard of space and got up brilliantly but just can't hit the target."

  3. CLOSE!published at 36 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Oh that is close! Wayne Rooney's corner is a fine one, Chris Smalling heads it on and Harry Kane is very close to meeting it in the goalmouth!

England are well on top as they win their fourth corner, again down the right with Kyle Walker.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Lens

England's fans are getting frustrated that they are not transforming superiority in territory and possession into clear chances - and Raheem Sterling is a target,

Huge roars of disapproval were aimed in his direction when he was slow to react and lost out on possession.

England definitely having the better of things but not making it count. Familiar?

  6. Wales sitting backpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

    Dafydd Pritchard
    BBC Sport Wales in Lens

Wales have a clear strategy of sitting back and allowing England to keep possession, with a view to utilising Gareth Bale's pace on the counter-attack.

It is arguably a risky approach and, with Ben Davies' apparent handball going unpunished in the Welsh penalty area, the red corner of the stadium is beginning to get a little jittery.

"Going back to that penalty shout, the fifth official said no. He put his coke and hot dog down at the time and said no."

  8. Hotting up in the Wales halfpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

    England 0-0 Wales

For those who like visuals, there is little doubt where the action is: England's attacking half. But Roy Hodgson's men have only had four shots to Wales' three, with Gary Cahill's header the only one on target.

    Robbie Savage
    Ex-Wales midfielder on BBC One

"Not a penalty for me. It hit his hand but I don't know what Ben Davies could do there. He wasn't even looking at the ball."

"For me that is a handball. Harry Kane heads it, he didn't know a lot about it. What is the official on that line doing?"

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 32 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

England work the ball nicely from the back to Dele Alli on the edge of the area, he doesn't shoot though and the ball comes back in.

Harry Kane heads the ball on and it hits Ben Davies on the hand! Nothing given...

Better from Harry Kane as he takes the ball with his back to goal, rolls Ben Davies and is fouled. Wayne Rooney on the ball again, good ball in but Chris Smalling is beaten to it by James Chester. Well defended.

    England 0-0 Wales

Former Wales striker Nathan Blake on BBC Radio 5 live: "The longer this game goes, it does play into Wales' favour. If England haven't scored by 60 minutes, Wales do stand a chance."

End to end stuff. Kyle Walker carries the ball 80 yards at full speed and his low cross goes behind for a corner. There's a goal in the offing.

  16. CLOSE!published at 25 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Danny Rose goes down easily - free-kick for England. Wayne Rooney to take - Gary Cahill meets it and that's straight at Wayne Hennessey! Another chance.

  17. Sluggish Englandpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

    England 0-0 Wales

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"England are not moving the ball. They look a bit like they lack confidence. Whether the occasion has got to them I'm not too sure. When they do press they look like they may get something but they don't continue it."

  18. Postpublished at 24 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Wayne Rooney has had more touches and made more passes than anyone on the pitch. I'm not sure quite when or how Roy Hodgson arrived at the decision to play him in midfield but it looks the right one. Adam Lallana almost flicks a ball through for Harry Kane. Nicely done.

Free-kick for England, in Eric Dier range, Harry Kane takes it and toes it miles over.

  20. Don't panic...published at 22 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Neither side with a shot on target so far. Wales scored with their first against Slovakia, England their fifth against Russia.
