Oumar Niasse looks an interesting prospect for Everton and he certainly knows how to find the back of the net. He’s unlikely to displace Romelu Lukaku up top however so, if he is to start, it looks most likely be at the expense of Kevin Mirallas, Arouna Koné or Steven Pienaar.

Given that Gerard Deulofeu and Ross Barkley play in similar positions but offer the advantage of being listed as midfielders, Niasse, who will likely be listed as a forward, will have to start his Everton career with a bang in order to force his way into many fantasy teams.

Simon March is offering up a fantasy football perspective on some of today's transfers.

Former Tottenham boss on BBC Radio 5 live

"Les Ferdinand has done well at QPR to get some big wages off the wage bill. He's got rid of Fer, Austin and Sandro. He's clearing the decks there to put the club on a level footing."

Speaking of Saido Berahino, he has spoken out - though in a much more sensible and less flammable fashion than he did in August...

Joseph: This is the most consistent and impressive Spurs squad for a long time. We can survive without Berahino or Dembele, I guess.

Giorgio Rossi: Arsenal. Sign. A. Striker. Best chance in years to win the EPL, but we need more firepower.

    Bradford City

Fleetwood Town striker Jamie Proctor has joined Bradford on a permanent deal until the end of the season, having originally been on loan at Valley Parade.

  15. Falcao in Madrid...published at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

"It does appear that Radamel Falcao is in Madrid but currently no update on who he might end up signing for. Any deal for the Colombian would have to go through his parent club Monaco but Chelsea will not raise any objections after his loan move - folowing a similar fruitless spell at Manchester United - failed to get off the ground."

  16. No signings for Leicesterpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Leicester City

We have it on good authority that there will be no new signings at Leicester tonight. Claudio Ranieri is clearly happy with his squad. And so he should be - every other club in the country is looking up at them at the moment.

    Joey Barton
Former Marseille midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"There's huge expectation on Steven Fletcher. The club are six points off the Champions League places, so the season is really at a crossroads. It's going to be a baptism of fire. It's going to be difficult for him to get in the starting XI. Marseille play 4-2-3-1 and Michy Batshuayi is the main centre forward."
