"What a finish from the youngster. He has side footed it into top corner. What a finish. Game on!"

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 76 mins

    Man City 1-1 Tottenham

This was going to happen before the goal. Gael Clichy - who has just assisted a goal - comes off for the more attack-minded Aleksandar Kolarov.

City level! And it comes from the substitute, who is perfectly placed near the penalty spot to smash Gael Clichy's low cross into the roof of the net. He sure can finish, this boy. And he has set up a belting last 15 minutes.

"Carroll has done well for Spurs. He is neat and tidy, keeps the ball and is more defensive than Son, who has worked exceptionally hard for Spurs today."

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

Spurs take off Son Heung-min and send on Tom Carroll. Pochettino preparing his side for a tough last 20.

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

We are into the last 20 minutes. Plenty of time for things to change. But City are getting increasingly desperate and angry. That isn't helped by Danny Rose playing on while Harry Kane is down. The City players had stopped to allow Kane some treatment.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

City make a change with Kelechi Iheanacho on for Fernando. Striker for defensive midfielder.

  9. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

Every decision that goes against City is greeted by a volley of abuse from the stands. Sergio Aguero is flagged offside. I'm sure the linesman with his flag up can feel vitriolic spit hitting the back of his neck from screaming City supporters.

"I think Spurs have been the better team, they have been better on the ball. The penalty was dubious but they are 1-0 up."

Shamim: As a THFC fan it was fairly obvious that was not a penalty. Facing away, ball hit his back first. Terrible decision.

Paul Phillips: If we're going to call that a handball, then we might as well just pack up and go home. NEVER in a million years a handball.

Jonathan, Oxford: I'm a Spurs fan and grateful, but it's an inexplicable handball decision. Sorry Man City.

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

City have Spurs pinned in their own half. David Silva tries a shot from the edge of the box but it is blocked by an away defender. You can see on the City faces that they are still riled by the penalty decision. They feel very hard done by.

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

    Robbie Savage
Former Leicester midfielder on Radio 5 live at the Etihad Stadium

"What has to happen in the future is to clarify what is handball. One is given and one won’t be. It has to be clarified because it is becoming a nonsense."

Just a moment to comment on Harry Kane. That penalty was his 15th goal in his last 17 Premier League appearances. He has 37 Premier League goals since the start of last season - only Sergio Aguero has more in that time (40).

Tim Riley: Disgraceful decision. Were this rugby it would have been overturned

Hugh Rodger: And it never even touched Sterling's arm! Very, very poor decision.

Jonathan Cowley: Outrageous decision. Not handball AND outside the box. Unbelievable. Standard of refereeing is abysmal in this country.

    Man City 0-1 Tottenham

The home fans are very unhappy. Mark Clattenburg has sparked their fury with that penalty call. Down on the pitch, the home side have the bit between their teeth. They will need to overcome an almighty obstacle, though. Spurs have only conceded nine goals in the second half of games this season - the best record in the Premier League

"Sterling has gone to block the cross, jumped, and turned his back. There is a lot of distance between him and the crosser. I think that is harsh, very, very harsh. It has hit him on the elbow."
