Raheem Sterling has wasted two glorious chances to kill off Liverpool and now suddenly his former club are level.

So we are just five minutes away from extra time now. A Liverpool goal did not look like arriving but there it is and their fans are making all the noise. 

And we won't see Christian Benteke as Divock Origi becomes Liverpool's third and final sub. Jurgen Klopp summons Jordan Henderson for some instruction. GET IT IN THE MIXER! Would be my advice. 

Into the last 10 minutes. Still no sign of Christian Benteke for Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero beats James Milner, drags it past Lucas and then finds Rahem Sterling - wide again!

Auxillary left-back James Milner gets into the area but his cross is poor and City can counter. Sergio Aguero almost whips it past the last man Kolo Toure but the ball goes out.

Liverpool haven't lost a cup tie to City since 1973 but that fact is very much in danger now. Fernando is booked for a cynical trip on Philippe Coutinho as we enter the final 15 minutes. 

Somebody has been attempting to turn Liverpool around for my entire adult life. It's quite the task.

That's more like it from Simon Mignolet as he gets down low to turn away a stinging low strike from Sergio Aguero, whose first touch to take it away from Lucas was superb. 

Liverpool have had 63% of possession but haven't had a shot on target. It's a stat you could use about a lot of Premier League teams at times this season.

David Silva fizzes a free-kick over the wall as City continue to look very dangerous on the break.

The game is really opening up now! Yaya Toure sends Sergio Aguero away with a run from deep inside his own half, Aguero jags inside the last man Alberto Moreno, Moreno snakes out a heel and chops Aguero down.

It's a penalty and a red card...but no! Referee Michael Oliver waves play on!

Oh how have you missed that one?! Yaya Toure leads a charge out of defence and City have the numbers. A good pass out right sends David Silva in on goal, he looks up and puts it on a silver platter for Raheem Sterling.

He is six yards out, centre of the goal, with Simon Mignolet to beat. Not a defender in sight. And he puts it WIDE!

A long way wide too. The elaborate, crane-operated, overhead camera angle does him no favours either on the replay. SO MUCH SPACE.

Liverpool continue to see more of the ball, with City sitting deep and looking to hit on the break. It could be a decent tactic too with plenty of pace out wide.

Liverpool now come forwards and Daniel Sturridge finds James Milner making a dart from right to left, a great run behind, but he can't wrap his foot around the ball and screws it wide!
