Carl Long: In Benidorm caravan park got talking to an older lady for an hour or two then I asked her name and it was Rooney's mum.

George Austin: Joe Hart's mum was one of my primary teachers. He came to our school and signed our shirts then he did a Q&A with our class!

    Colchester v Tottenham (12:45 GMT)

The Colchester mascot, Eddie the Eagle (not that one) has got a massive dose of Cup fever. He's just sprinted through the tunnel, tried to start a fight with a cameraman and ruffled the moustache of a large gentleman. It doesn't kick off for over two hours...

Mitch, Edinburgh: I once sat next to our reserve goalkeeper's mum at an away game. Cue awkward looks as our number one goalie lets his opposite number score from 90 yards!

Some transfer news from last night which you may have missed - as Chelsea have signed Brazil striker Alexandre Pato on loan from Corinthians until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has made 27 appearances for his national team, scoring 10 goals, and represented his country at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.

"I am so happy to sign for Chelsea," said Pato. "It is a dream for me, I'm looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates and cannot wait to play.

"I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith."

He looked like a world beater in 2007 or so. Can he deliver the goods again?

    Footballers' Mums

Put your names on those texts please now...

I went to AFC Fylde's FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round game earlier this season, it was 1-0 after 75mins, when I realised I was sat next to the goalkeeper's grandmother & parents after a brief chat. Suddenly every incident involving their offspring became unbearably tense & he followed up a slight fumble with a great save. They hung on to win 1-0.
