"Pep Guardiola will get absolutely huge financial backing. The owners have secured the manger they want, and now they will be bidding for Messi and Ronaldo - they will be a club competing at that level.

"Pep will be armed with the top players in the world. They will ask him who he wants, and then they will go and try to buy the best players."

"Manchester City will be kicking themselves. They started sluggishly. But look at the marking, there is no height on the ball. It comes to Huth, there is no-one in front of him. He uses his trength and gets there before Demichelis who gives him far too much space. It is terrible defending the cross should have been cut off well before it got to Huth.

"Leicester City can now play their favourite game and play on the break."

    Robert Huth

Leicester have only gone and scored! It comes from Riyad Mahrez free-kick from the right which is swung in to the edge of the six yard box, where Robert Huth is lurking and between him and home defender Martin Demichelis, the ball finds the net. This was already a game that demanded your attention. How can you ignore it now. You can follow it here.

In short then, bye. I'll see you in 85 minutes.

"Everybody on the red side of Manchester can just see City getting better and better. The young kids now are flocking to watch football at the Etihad, not Old Trafford.

"The great thing for City now is that all the players currently there will really start to perform, because they will want to be at the club beyond this summer, to be able to work under Pep Guardiola.

"Look at the players United have attracted recently, in comparison to City's. The Reds have been shopping at Lidl while the Blues have been in Harrods."

    This is not a title-decider

Our vote is now closed and the results are in. You will not be surprised to learn that 70% of you thought that today's game between Manchester City and Leicester will NOT decide the Premier League title. I imagine that is because most of you are aware that there are still 13 games to go after this.

    Some anecdote here...

"I spoke to Sam Bailey [former X Factor winner] who took Jamie Vardy to a Paul Gascoigne evening before he scored that incredible goal. Gazza had a word in his ear. There is that incredible insight from a player like Gazza that can change the way you play."

Yeah, but it was Bailey who told him to watch the ball right on to his boot. She's got a mean volley in her, that lass.

  13. Leicester look to diminish the doubterspublished at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

Man City v Leicester City (12:45 GMT)

    Steve Bower
Match of the Day commentator at the Etihad

"While the Premier League still waits for Leicester's story to turn onto a troubled chapter, Manchester City have to look up at them.

"In the first home game since the announcement that Manuel Pellegrini will be leaving at the end of the season, they will need a positive atmosphere against a team with incredible momentum.

"It will be fascinating to see the league's top scorers go up against a Leicester defence that has kept clean sheets in five of their last six games.

"Leicester have a group of players with remarkable spirit and mentality that have now taken 72 points from their last 99.

"If they come through their next two games at the Etihad and the Emirates unscathed, their list of doubters will dwindle even further."

Former Leicester and Aston Villa forward on Football Focus

"Manchester City have to stop Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki, their movement is outstanding. I can not see Nicolás Otamendi and Martín Demichelis dealing with them.

"Vardy goes into positions that centre-halves do not want. This match is about the centre-halves against defence for me."

  15. Don't mess with a ref's spraypublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

Here is a lesson for other footballers to heed - don't mess with a referee and his vanishing spray. Western Sydney Wanderers' Scott Jamieson did just that in a recent game against Melbourne Victory, removing a lump of the spray which the referee had sprayed round the ball before a free-kick. When the referee then re-sprayed the line, Jamieson had a few words to say and earned himself a booking - most likely the first for such an offense., external

Maybe Jamieson should have just waited a sec? The clue is in the title.

"People keep waiting for the two or three games where Leicester are going to blow up. A lot of people still don't think they will finish in the top four.

"But the Foxes have no cup commitments, they're not in Europe, and they get plenty of rest before games.

"But this title chase is very demanding - the longer it goes on the tougher it gets.

We've crunched some numbers and worked out the respective costs of the two side's for the game at the Etihad. And they are (in no way designed to perpetuate the David v Goliath angle... honest):

Cost of Manchester City's XI: £244.6m

Cost of Leicester City's XI: £22m

  18. Postpublished at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

Man City v Leicester (12:45 GMT)

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, speaking to BT Sport: "We only have 14 players and we have nine games in February, we have to use all the players.

"It is a really important game. Leicester have a good team, they are fighting for the title. They are a dangerous team and have won a lot of points away from home. They defend well with eight or nine players and have fast players on the counter-attack with one or three in outstanding form."

  19. Postpublished at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

Man City v Leicester (12:45 GMT)

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, speaking to BT Sport: "It is good (that we are people's second team) it gives us a lot of energy. Leicester were in battle for relegation and now we are in another atmosphere which is good for us.

"We know today will be a tough match but my players are all in a good condition."
