Toniwater: Pep's rep taking a savage hit, CL failure again those bayern legends watching will b happy 2 see the back of Pep.

Roymeredith: Some irony if Pellegrino takes MCFC further in #UCL, external than Guardiola takes Bayern (just before Pep takes over MC with UCL target)

Helles Mammut: Pep Guardiola has to be the most overrated coach ever, in 3 years at Bayern he got destroyed in the CL by Real,Barca and Juve

    Barcelona 1-0 Arsenal (agg 3-0)

    Joey Barton
Burnley midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"Who is the world-class centre-back and centre-forward Arsenal can bring in? Arsene Wenger has spent a lot of money on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez but signings have to be on his terms.

"Arsenal have pressed Barcelona on the front but then the lads at the back have to press too. There is a huge pitch to play and they will blow up if they keep pressing and I worry for the last 20 minutes."

  4. Action from elsewherepublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2016

All the rage from Arsenal fans over the last few weeks really annoys me. Why do they speak as if it's their given right as Arsenal supporters to have their club lift silverware? Man United's success under SAF was incredible, but you don't hear of them screaming that we should be winning the title, we are just thankful when they do. All United fans want is to see them play the United way. If Arsenal fans want Wenger out so much then he should come to us.

"Arsenal are only two players away from being a top side. A magnificent centre-forward who can get 25+ goals and a world-class centre-back.

"They have enough midfield players. They have £150m-£200m in the bank but only need to bring in two more players.

"In the first half, it was a clear nick of Alex Iwobi's heel and should have been a penalty. Laurent Koscielny got it wrong trying to play out from the back and has cost Arsenal any chance of going through.

"Going forward, Arsenal have looked good but defensively they have looked fragile, that has been the case for years. Sol Campbell, Martin Keown and Ashley Cole have never been replaced."

Phew...I have some support from Arsenal legend Ian Wright on that Gunners 'penalty' shout. He reckons that Alex Iwobi clipped his own feet too (see 20:22 entry)....

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:36

    Barcelona 1-0 Arsenal (agg 3-0)

Arsenal have been far from outclassed at the Nou Camp, just lacking the ruthless finishing of the reigning European champions.

Although Barca have dominated possession (and when don't they?), the Gunners have spent a healthy 22.9% of the opening 45 minutes in the home third.

What is telling though, is the fact that Arsenal have not managed to stick one of their eight shots at the Barca goal on target.

Juventus in control - but Bayern Munich were 2-0 up at this stage of the first leg only for the Italians to fightback on home turf. Bayern are in trouble, though. They look out of sorts and their defence are being beaten too easily.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Arsenal (agg 3-0)

That's three-quarters of this Champions League last-16 tie done and dusted. Arsenal have everything to do...

Mathieu Flamini comes offImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal are making a change...must be desperate if they can't wait until the break. Off trudges defensive midfielder Mathieu Flamini to be replaced by Francis Coquelin in a like-for-like change. One presumes that is because of an injury...

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2016

Bayern Munich 0-2 Juventus (agg 2-4)

Oof! It's all happening. A cute chipped ball from Arturo Vidal puts Thomas Muller through and, from six yards, you'd expect the German to score but the evergreen Gianluigi Buffon puts his body in the way.

Pinball inside the six-yard box... Robert Lewandowski's eyes widen but the Poland striker hits the side-netting.

And there's more. Moments later, Paul Pogba races through the midfield, finds Juan Cuadrado and the Colombian looks set to score only the diving Manuel Neuer keeps his team in the match.

    Barcelona 1-0 Arsenal (agg 3-0)

Plenty of encouragement for Arsenal in this first half. The Gunners have not been afraid to attack Barca, particularly down the flanks. Shame they conceded that sloppy goal...

Two minutes plus stoppages for the visitors to gain a foothold in this tie....

Another Arsenal chance. A flowing move down the left slices open the Barca defence, Danny Welbeck going through after a slick one-two with Alex Iwobi. But the England striker cannot bend his shot into the far corner, a desperate Barca lunge doing enough to put him off.

Bayern Munich 0-2 Juventus (agg 2-4)

Bayern have enjoyed over 60% of possession and they're camped in the Juve half, searching for their opening goal, but there's a reason why the Italians haven't conceded in the league in over two months. They're quite good at defending.

The hosts yet to truly create a clear opening, other than a Franck Ribery volley which went wide early in the half.

  17. Postpublished at 20:26

    Barcelona 1-0 Arsenal (agg 3-0)

Barcelona are not having all of this their own way. Arsenal are threatening.

First Mesut Ozil's low cross from the left byeline is hacked clear by Javier Mascherano ahead of a sliding Mathieu Flamini.

Then Alexis Sanchez blows their best chance by planting a free eight-yard header wide of the far post. One of these chances have to go in!

Arsene Wenger talks to the fourth officialImage source, Getty Images

Oh hello! Arsenal reckon they have a shout for a penalty. I'm not having it. Alex Iwobi cuts across Javier Mascherano to race onto a Danny Welbeck through ball, tumbling with the Argentine hot on his heels.

Video replays are inconclusive, but if I was a betting man I'd suggest the teenager clipped his own feet.

Former World Cup referee Howard Webb disagrees, however. You choose who to believe...
