    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

So back to the action in Cardiff. Wales certainly got closer to the Northern Ireland goal than their opponents did to theirs, but can they make a breakthrough in the second half?

    Italy 0-0 Spain

We'd love to tell you that the friendly between Italy and Spain is a thriller. But if we did then we would be liars. Not much to tell you about from Udine. Spain keeper David de Gea has made a couple of bread and butter saves, Italy have hacked clear a few dangerous balls into the box. That's about it.

Oh, hang on. There was one highlight. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque stacking it. Was he doing a Louis van Gaal impression?

    Thanks for voting.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2016

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

"The Cardiff City Stadium filled up gradually during the first half and, as the decibels levels rose, so too did the interest on the pitch.

"With the atmosphere in the stands reminiscent of a British cup tie, you get the impression these teams are more invested in this game than they are most friendlies."

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2016

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Dean Saunders
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"I don't think the two keepers have had anything to do - just one routine save for each of them. Both teams are really cautious - it's all set up for a 0-0. I shouldn't have said that!"

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2016

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Gerry Taggart
Former Northern Ireland captain at Cardiff City Stadium

"In both boxes, there is a lack of cutting edge and quality. But Wales had the better of the opening 45 minutes."

"So frustrating from Conor Washington. He took a great first touch, and Kyle Lafferty has made a decent run, but Washington then takes a heavy second touch and chips it over the bar. He should have taken a chance on passing to Lafferty."

That's it for the half. Intriguing if not thrilling.

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

Wales have been on top in the half so far and have definitely had the better chances. This time another David Cotterill corner is headed over by James Chester from eight yards. Got to go down as another opportunity. Shortly afterwards NI striker Conor Washington tries his luck from range, much to the amusement of the Welsh crowd. It goes well over

I think we have a winner. Belter. But I'm sure you can match this can't you?

"Again David Cotterill's delivery is excellent. Sam Vokes is great at getting the end of crosses - that's his strength. With Cotterill's delivery he could get one tonight."

Wales winger George Williams now scythes down Oliver Norwood and is lucky not to be booked. Oh yeah, it's a friendly, different rules apply!

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Dean Saunders
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"Looking at the tactics of both teams, you can see how Northern Ireland don't concede many. They have got five at the back basically and are letting Wales go down the sides. Wales are crossing balls into the box, but they only have Sam Vokes in there against three Northern Ireland defenders. That's how Northern Ireland start counters with headed clearances."

  17. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Wales 0-0 Northern Ireland

Wales striker Sam Vokes drops deep to use his strength, with the ball worked over to the left. George Williams shoots goalwards but Northern Ireland's Craig Cathcart heads it over for a corner. From the set-piece, Vokes heads just wide. A decent passage of play for the hosts.

A reminder that Wales are away at Ukraine on Easter Monday, which you can also see live on the BBC. Chris Coleman's side travel to Sweden on 5 June before their Euro 2016 campaign kicks off against Slovakia on 11 June.

If a player wants to be on the plane, boat or train to France, the Ukraine game is the last chance to make an impression.

Conor Washington attempts to make inroads into the Wales box but finds himself as the meat in a David Vaughan-Chris Gunter sandwich. The Northern Ireland debutant wants a penalty, but the Scottish referee Steven McLean is not interested.
