    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

The game is drifting a little bit now, and has lost rhythm after all those changes.

Oliver Norwood puts in a free-kick that is below par and easily dealt with.

To pass the time, here's a picture of a bunny rabbit with a worryingly large eye...

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 28 March 2016

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

Paddy McNair is off. Niall McGinn is on.

I think that's Northern Ireland's 14th substitution, although it's possible I may have lost count.

Steve Smith: We had a budgie called Duncan Ferguson. We went on holiday and left Duncan to our neighbour. He escaped from his cage and flew to our upstairs bathroom and didn't survive. Was replaced by Duncan Ferguson 2 which didn't fool us as he was a different colour.

Peter Anketell: Here's a random one - I had a koala bear hand puppet that I got in 1990 during the World Cup.My brother made me name him Diego.

You had me at 'koala bear hand puppet'.

There DEFINITELY aren't enough hand puppets in our things (animals) named after footballers XI.

Steven Davis's eyes light up as the ball drops to him on the edge of the area, but the half volley is charged down.

Conor McLaughlin then sends a diagonal to Kyle Lafferty on the left side of the box and he puts it back across first time, but he's offside.

    There are 15 minutes left.

We have a Noah's Ark of animals named after footballers...

Rick in Edinburgh: We got a shelter dog the day the '94 World Cup started, agreed with my parents we would name it after 1st scorer. Hoping he would be called Baggio, our dog was called Ray Houghton! Everyone loved his name too!

Glenn Wheeler: My dad's a Spurs fan, so he decided to name me after the legendary Glenn Hoddle! Looking forward to carrying on the tradition. Gareth, Harry and Rafael are all in the mix so far...

Linda Edwards: Named our labrador Dawson after Michael then Spurs sold him to Hull. Heartbroken.

Stu: Had a cat called sooty who stopped the ball from going in the goal in the garden - renamed him 'snelders' after the Aberdeen keeper - amazingly it stuck and the cat preferred it.

Luke: Come on, surely there is a spider somewhere named after Yashin! If not I am going to find one in the bathroom and name him Lev.

Kyle Lafferty is being the epitome of Kyle Lafferty by nicking the ball off a defender. He takes it down the right channel and whips in a low cross that Josh Magennis can't get contact to.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 28 March 2016

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

Conor Washington's night of top work is over.

    He's replaced by Josh Magennis.

Bear in mind that Conor was playing non-league football just four years ago.

Washington's former Peterborough team-mate Michael Smith is also off, ending a decent debut, with Conor McLaughlin on.

Not that it matters now, but the awarding of the penalty was initially a bit puzzling.

But looking at the replays, Jonny Evans has an arm wrapped around the neck of Miral Samardzic. An easy decision.

Roy Carroll using all of his 38 years of experience to get down to his right and save from Milivoje Novakovic.

It's like watching classic Premier League action of yesteryear.

Andrew Wilkinson: Conor Washington scored for Peterborough in a preseason friendly against Cliftonville, so can’t be his first trip.

Perhaps Conor thinks this is his first visit to Northern Ireland.

A greyhound and a tortoise in the squad now? It's good to have options.

I bet he goes like a whippet.

Michael O'Neill's coaching staff hand a piece of paper to Aaron Hughes.

That's Aaron Hughes who's on the football pitch.

Not too sure what he did with it.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 28 March 2016

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

Jamie Ward is off, possibly to make sure he doesn't get a second booking.

And on comes Kyle Lafferty to the second biggest cheer of the night.

Shane Ferguson also makes way, with Stuart Dallas coming on.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

Northern Ireland play it coolly and calmly out from the back, lovely two-touch stuff.

They get it to the edge of the Slovenia area before it breaks down and at the other end Shane Ferguson is forced into turning a cross behind for a corner.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovenia

So, Northern Ireland have never gone 10 games unbeaten.

Tonight could be the night for Michael O'Neill's men to make history.

Michael Smith is played in down the right by some clever play by Conor Washington.

The pair will have a connection from being at Peterborough together.

But Smith can't beat the first man with the cross.

    Ukraine 1-0 Wales

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on BBC Two Wales

"It was a hard fought performance. Wales gave everything, you can't question their attitude. Chris Coleman will be disappointed with the way they conceded the goal. But there was little between the two teams. Wales had more possession, forced more corners, but it is goals that count."

We want to know about names inspired by footballers.

Paul Francis: Had a lamb called Gerry named after Gerry Taggart. Had as much skill on the ball

Lambs, dogs, cats, a tortoise. Anyone care to throw any others into the mix?
