Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
A glimmer of hope for Shrewsbury.
Substitute Will Keane has been forced off with a groin injury and Manchester United have no subs left.
Shrewsbury needed a hand from somewhere. At least they now have the numerical advantage.
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Just as I say that, Shrewsbury break and they have a free-kick on the right and 40 yards out.
Normally not a moment of excitement but, when you have had as little to cheer as Shrewsbury have, this is worth celebrating.
Junior Brown whips it in from the right, Sergio Romero comes flapping, but Zak Whitbread heads wide. From the loose ball, Romero is judged to have been fouled.
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
A sublime flick from Memphis Depay sends Will Keane into the penalty area but, running away from goal, his fierce strike beats the goalkeeper but cannons off the post. Good strike.
Shrewsbury have pitched their tents, set up the camp fire and put up the wind break. They are camped in their own half.
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Jesse Lingard should make it 4-0.
He receives the ball from the otherwise poor Memphis Depay but, through on goal and inside Shrewsbury's penalty area, he bobbles a shot wide.
Terrible Jesse. No wonder you limp away with a pained expression.

Happy anniversary United...
Most have been better than this one...

Should be a tasty quarter-final.

This could not have been more comfortable for Manchester United. Shrewsbury Town have been so passive and it was apparent from very early on that they simply did not have the capacity to seriously hurt Van Gaal's side.
Good night and a pay-day for the League One club - but nothing more.
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Talk about turning defence into attack for Jesse Lingard's (35) third goal...
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Job done for Juan Mata as he is replaced in midfield by Andreas Pereira.
Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Memphis Depay should be playing at Twickenham...
He has a free-kick 25 yards out and, not for the first time, smacks the ball over the bar.

"It doesn't matter they've conceded. Shrewsbury have put the ball in the United box. Defensively they never looked like they would keep United out, so they should keep trying to play. Go and enjoy the game."
Jesse Lingard
Shrewsbury have their most dangerous moment of the match as Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro crosses at goalkeeper Sergio Romero from the right.
Seconds later and United extend their lead. They break quickly, Ander Herrera clips a cross to the far post and Jesse Lingard calmly converts.
No more than they have deserved.
Shrewsbury 0-2 Manchester United
The match stats tell a pretty damning story.
Shrewsbury haven't had a shot on or off target. Manchester United have had 19 in total.
Shrewsbury 0-2 Manchester United
The heat maps - Manchester United right, Shrewsbury left - show the Premier League side remain very much on top.
Shrewsbury 0-2 Manchester United
Brilliant from Anthony Martial.
He sells Zak Whitbread a beauty on the bye line.
While the Shrewsbury defender slides towards his fans, Martiall pulls the ball back but it is scrambled wide.
Shrewsbury 0-2 Manchester United
Here's another chance to watch the goals...
And one that never looked like being a goal...

Steve Claridge

"If Shrewsbury were flying and going well in League One, a team full of confidence, then it might have been a different story."
