  1. We deserved win - Hiddinkpublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink: "I think it was a deserved win for us. They haven't conceded in last six, seven games so it was successful for us.

"We had a setback when we went 1-0 down, it was a present from our defence, but we did very well in the second half. We were well organised and then got the goals."

On replacing Baba Rahman, whose mistake led to Southampton's goal, at half-time: "I don't want to make a fake injury. I took him off because of the error. He has to cope with that. He was very down in the locker room about his mistake, but we have to make decisions like we did."

On match-winner Branislav Ivanovic and the injured John Terry: "Branislav is a very good header, he jumps well and is courageous. Then his execution is perfect. I hope that John is close to returning but we have a lot of games remaining. I don't want to take a big risk on his fitness."

  3. 'My players believe until the end'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Leicester 1-0 Norwich

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a difficult match. Norwich played well and closed the space, but we believed until the end. This victory was very important to restart after the Arsenal defeat.

"I said before the Arsenal match that Norwich would be more difficult. Both teams could have scored a goal in the final 20 minutes. Fortunately, it was Leicester who scored a goal at the end of the match.

"The conclusion I have drawn from this is that my players believe until the end. That, for me, is very important. If the other teams start to win, they can win all the matches. But for us, the next match is always the final match. That is our mentality.

"I was so worried about this match, because after two weeks, your players can lose their tempo, but now I am very relaxed, and now I start to think about the West Brom match. It is a derby and a very, very, very tough match."

  4. Manager reactionpublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Stoke 2-1 Aston Villa

Stoke boss Mark Hughes speaking to BBC Sport: "We needed to be a little more dynamic in the second half and we were.

"At 2-0 we were quite comfortable and cruising to a conclusion. The referee should have given a free-kick to ourselves [in the build-up to Aston Villa's goal] but at 2-1 they brought on Gestede and that was a threat to us but all in all I felt we coped with it.

"Every time we have had a little blip we have bounced back very quickly and we have done that today."

  5. Manager reactionpublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Stoke 2-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde, speaking to BBC Sport: "The players did what they can.

"The first 45 minutes we were OK and defended well. We tried to do our best but we started the second half too poorly and when you are 2-0 down it is over.

"When you are bottom of the table it is difficult to play with full confidence. The fans were behind the team. We don't have enough quality."

  6. Hiddink 'didn't see' key decisionpublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

So Ronald Koeman, unsurprisingly, reckons that ref Martin Atkinson should have awarded his team a free-kick in the run-up to Chelsea's equaliser. And what does his Dutch compatriot Guus Hiddink think?

"I haven't seen it and if I see it I'll give it my fair view," says the Chelsea manager.

"But there are many duels and referees in England usually let a lot of duels go."

  7. You have to listen to the linesman - Koemanpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

A bit of controversy surrounds that Chelsea equaliser - definitely one to watch on Match of the Day later and make up your own mind.

The linesman flagged for a foul by Chelsea substitute Kenedy on Southampton defender Cedric Soares, but he was overruled by referee Martin Atkinson. Seconds later, Cesc Fabregas stuck the ball in the Saints net...

Here's Saints manager Ronald Koeman's take on it...

"I don't understand that. The linesman is the closest to the situation. If it is a fault by Kenedy then you have to listen to the linesman. That's why you have linesmen - to help you," he tells BBC Sport.

    Championship round-up

There are new leaders in the Championship tonight. Burnley are top for the first time this season after coming from a goal down to win 2-1 at next-to-bottom Bolton, with Andre Gray scoring twice to take his total for the Clarets to 16 since his arrival from Brentford last August. That was £9m well spent by Sean Dyche.

Jose Mourinho was at Craven Cottage to watch Middlesbrough, managed by his former Real Madrid assistant boss Aitor Karanka move level on points with second-placed Hull by beating Fulham 2-0. Albert Adomah headed the first, with Grant Leadbitter adding a penalty.

There was drama aplenty at the foot of the Championship, where Neil Warnock guided Rotherham to a first win in eight matches as they beat Brentford 2-1. Warnock's side are just three points from a position of safety after MK Dons lost 3-2 at Blackburn.

The most extraordinary game of the day, though, was at The Valley. Charlton game from two goals down to draw level against Reading as on-loan Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo scored a hat-trick - only to lose 4-3 as Deniss Rakels scored in the second minute of stoppage time. It means that the Addicks have just one win from their last 17 league matches.

    League One round-up

League One's game of the day turned out to be an anti-climax, as leaders Burton were held 0-0 at home by fourth-placed Walsall. That was good news for Wigan, in second, who moved to within two points of top spot by beating Bury 3-0, with Will Grigg scoring twice and all three goals coming in the first 21 minutes.

Even better news for Gary Caldwell's team came as third-placed Gillingham surprisingly lost 2-1 at home to struggling Chesterfield, for whom former Manchester United and Wolves forward Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored. Millwall, in fifth, were denied victory by one of their former players, as midfielder Richard Chaplow scored for Doncaster in a 1-1 draw.

At the bottom, there was cause for minor celebration at Colchester, who picked up only their fifth point in 19 matches, and kept their first clean sheet since September, drawing 0-0 at home to Shrewsbury, who are deep in trouble themselves. Crewe lost and Oldham drew, and both remain on course for the drop.

  14. We dropped too deep - Van Dijkpublished at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk: "We're very disappointed. We did it ourselves, we dropped back too much.

"Their first goal was lucky, the second was a set piece, we should have done better. The first goal was a cross but that goes in and gives them belief.

"We knew they were a good team, but we still have confidence and know we can finish the season strongly."

    League Two round-up

Northampton's run of 10 successive League Two wins is over. Chris Wilder's runaway leaders have faced all sorts of financial woes this season, yet have proved unstoppable on the pitch. But Hartlepool, in the bottom four, held them 0-0 at Victoria Park today.

Plymouth, way behind in second, beat Notts County 1-0 thanks to a Graham Carey goal, while Oxford, in third, won 2-1 at fifth-placed AFC Wimbledon. Accrington, in fourth, slipped up, losing a two-goal lead as John Akinde's 90th-minute equaliser gave Barnet a 2-2 draw.

Oh to be a season-ticket holder at bottom club Dagenham and Redbridge, who have not won a single home game in any competition all season, and today lost 1-0 at home to struggling Yeovil. York, who are next to bottom, are now two points from a position of safety after Olly Lee's stoppage-time goal gave Luton a 3-2 win at Bootham Crescent.

How big could that goal be for Leicester? Five points clear at the top of the table now and the pressure is put on Tottenham and Arsenal, who both play tomorrow.

At the other end of the table things are looking bleak for Aston Villa, who are eight points adrift after their latest defeat.
