    Southampton 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea are pounding on the Saints door now. Luckily Jose Fonte and Steven Davis are the equivalent of a couple of padded locks. The home pair stick their bodies in the way of Diego Costa's shot on the turn. Little over 10 minutes left to find a winner...

    Leandro Bacuna

Hang on? Aston Villa bag out of nowhere. In fairness, it is a nice finish from Leandro Bacuna as a cross runs through to him unmarked on the far side of the area, and he finishes low.

Huge cheers from the away end. How often have they had chance to celebrate an away goal this season?

Suggestion of a handball in the build-up by Scott Sinclair, but play went on.

    Stoke 2-0 Aston Villa

Is Jason Derulo performing in Stoke tonight? Roberto Martinez is in attendance at the Britannia.

It is more likely that it is because Everton play Aston Villa in midweek, but he may as well have gone for a bit of a boogie at a Derulo gig somewhere instead. On this showing, he won't have much to fear from Villa. Stoke are dominating play and I wouldn't be surprised if they get a third.

    Cesc Fabregas

Fraser Forster has not conceded in a month of Sundays - until now. And the Saints keeper has let in the softest of equalisers. Cesc Fabregas curls in a hopeful cross towards Willian which is too strong for his team-mate. But Forster, perhaps thinking he will get a touch, stands rooted to his spot as Fabregas's effort creeps inside the far post.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-0 Chelsea

The Southampton players and fans think they should have a penalty. Gary Cahill slides into a last-ditch tackle as Charlie Austin bounds after a ball going into the Chelsea area. Foul? Handball? Both? Either? None of them, according to referee Martin Atkinson. And we reckon he's probably got that right.

Enter the Tinkerman. Claudio Ranieri has lost that famous moniker since arriving at Leicester, but feels a couple of changes are necessary now. N'golo Kante and Shinji Okazaki are the men hooked, with Andy King and Jeffrey Schlupp asked to turn this game in the Premier League leaders' favour.

    Championship round-up

The most significant second-half happening in the Championship so far is at Ewood Park, where Jordi Gomez has equalised for Blackburn to make it 1-1 against MK Dons, in the battle of the teams who are looking a little nervously over their shoulders.

Burnley are missing the chance to replace Hull at the top at it stands. They've had the better chances at struggling Bolton, without scoring, and now trail 1-0 to Liam Feeney's goal. Middlesbrough are set to move above Sean Dyche's side and into second place. They're 2-0 up at Fulham and cruising.

Bottom club Charlton, with just one win in their last 16 league games, are playing rather better under Jose Riga than they were under Karel Fraeye, but they're still not getting the results. They trail 3-2 at home to Reading.

    Stoke 2-0 Aston Villa

It might be a contender for closest goal of the season, but they all count. Marko Arnautovic won't care, his second goal is his 10th of the season in all competitions.

    Southampton 1-0 Chelsea

Now all that has settled down we get back to football. Southampton are close to scoring a second, Branislav Ivanovic heads clear close to his own penalty spot under pressure from Charlie Austin.

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

Oh, best chance of the game so far.

Nordin Amrabat finds space down the right to whip in a cross for Odion Ighalo, who is all alone in the middle of the area. The ball comes in at pace and Ighalo powers a header over.

The striker stands with his hands on his hips, staring off into the middle distance. He knows he should have done better.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Southampton 1-0 Chelsea

Tick, tock, tick, tock. The timebomb that is Diego Costa's temper is close to exploding. Can he keep a lid on it?

The Chelsea striker loses his rag when he is booked by referee Martin Atkinson, shortly after Saints pair Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand tried their best to get a reaction out of him.

Bertrand and Jordy Clasie also go into the ref's notepad for fouls. Yellow confetti time.

    League Two round-up

Some rather odd scenes at the Globe Arena, where there was an evacuation after a fire alarm went off - as reported by Carlisle News and Star correspondent Jon Colman above. The fans are now back in their seats, and watching Morecambe maintaining a 1-0 lead over Carlisle.

At the top of the table, second-placed Plymouth lead Notts County 1-0, and fourth-placed Accrington are in front against Barnet too. Oxford, in third, are 2-1 up at AFC Wimbledon, in fifth.

Meanwhile, there have been a couple of crucial goals at the bottom. Yeovil, outside the bottom two only on goal difference, have taken the lead at bottom club Dagenham and Redbridge through the finely-named Brandon Goodship, who is on loan from Bournemouth, and has only recently returned to action after a very serious knee injury. At the same time, relegation rivals York have slipped 1-0 behind at home to Luton, with Cameron McGeehan scoring.

    Stoke 2-0 Aston Villa

Sorry Aston Villa fans, I quite liked the application of your side in the first half, but it is like they packed up and went home at half time.

There's no urgency, and no sign of desire to try and rescue this game, highlighted as Philipp Wollscheid's header, a weak one I might add, is allowed to bounce past a couple of Villa defenders and almost creep in at the far post.

    Leicester 0-0 Norwich

Leicester are trying to crank up the pressure. A dangerous cross from the left - by Rihad Mahrez, naturally - takes most of the away defence out of the game. Except for left-back Robbie Brady. He is perfectly positioned to boot clear.

Chance for Chelsea! Eden Hazard has an entire post code to himself on the right flank, taking his time to pick out Diego Costa at the far post. But the Blues striker volleys over under no pressure.

    Stoke 2-0 Aston Villa

    Jason Roberts
Former West Brom striker on Final Score

“That was one of the worst goals to concede we are ever going to see.

“Someone get there, someone show some desire. The thing was the reaction of the Villa players. No one showed any aggression or passion, it was just get the ball out of the net and get going.”

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2016

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

Beautiful shot, beautiful save. Just everything about this chance is lovely!

A neat passage of play sees the ball eventually fall to Harry Arter 25 yards from the Watford goal, he shoots with the outside of his boot, arrowing an effort towards the top corner but somehow Heurelho Gomes palms it away.

    Leicester 0-0 Norwich

But here's more danger for Norwich...

Leicester free-kick on the edge of the area. A cluster of blue shirts hang around the ball, with Jamie Vardy looking favourite.

The England striker smashes goalwards after Danny Drinkwater's little touch, but John Ruddy goes low to gather his effort. That's the Foxes' first shot on target...

Mahrez to Vardy. We've heard that one a few times this season. And so too has Norwich keeper John Ruddy. He races off his line quickly when Mahrez tries to pick out his mate with a long pass, booting the ball clear before Vardy reaches it.
