We'll bring you the best snippets from that programme as we continue to look ahead to this afternoon's Premier League matches.

Match of the Day commentator Guy Mowbray is already in position at St James' Park. "They're calling this the biggest Tyne-Wear derby since the two sides met each other in a play-off semi-final in the old Division Two 1990," he says.

Incidentally, Sunderland won that tie 2-0 on aggregate. An omen?

Mr Widowed: Keele 6 - 5 Staffs. Women's football. Keele grabbing a last minute winner. Pitch invasion, flares going off.

Alex, from Harrow: Harrow v Eaton. Massive derby at Lord's, the home of cricket. Great chants as both schools hate each other. Eaton won last year but Harrow won for the last 3 years.

Simon Endeacott: Heckmondwike Secondary v Heckmondwike Grammar U16 circa 1982. Playing for Grammar we were 0-4 up at half-time and cruising. At halftime PE Teacher just said 'nothing to worry about here lads'.... Lost 6-4 .

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (16:00 GMT)

All this talk of derbies may be advantageous for Tottenham today. With the focus elsewhere, can they reduce the gap to leaders Leicester? Like the Foxes, Mauricio Pochettino's side have only the Premier League to focus on following their Europa League exit at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.

Eric Dier is an injury doubt for today's game against a Bournemouth side who have matched Tottenham's energy this season and are two points from reaching the magical 40 - usually considered enough to stay up.

Man City v Man Utd (16:00 GMT)

Speaking of Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal, the Dutchman has a friend in former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince.

'The Guv'nor' does not think Van Gaal should be sacked just yet and believes United can still salvage their season with a trophy.

"We could be sat here in two or three weeks' time with fourth place and in an FA Cup final," Ince told BBC Radio 5 live Sportsweek.

"A lot can happen before they need to make a decision. If they get into the final and get a Champions League place then there is no reason to get rid of Van Gaal."

  8. Mourinho wants Kane at Old Trafford, but would he go?published at 11:43 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2016

There are a couple of other stories in this morning's newspapers that may interest Manchester United and Tottenham fans regarding Jose Mourinho potentially replacing United boss Louis Van Gaal.

Spanish newspaper El Pais claims that Mourinho has already signed a pre-contract agreement, external with the club.

While in the Independent on Sunday, it's said that Spurs striker Harry Kane will be Mourinho's top target, external, should the Portuguese get the job. The question you have to ask is: Would Kane want to go to Old Trafford? Again, it might depend on the Champions League.

  9. De Gea to say adios?published at 11:34 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2016

Man City v Man Utd (16:00 GMT)

The importance of Manchester United beating Manchester City and making it into the Champions League is underlined by this story in today's Sunday Star.

If they don't reach the top four, goalkeeper David De Gea could be off to Real Madrid, the paper says. It would be a massive blow. The Spaniard has been one of their players of the season, which probably tells you a lot about their season in general.

Frank, from Leeds:  North East Sunday morning derby, scored two goals, won 2-1 then I'm strangely subbed. Argue with manager who transfers me to guess who, yep the rivals. Return fixture scored the winner to knock my former team out of the cup semi-final. Karma is alive and kicking!

Phil, from Cardiff: Playing in the Manchester youth games volleyball final for Wigan against Bolton. We ended up winning a very heated match (with a bit of gamesmanship from us), and when we were all shaking hands at the end, a riot broke out. Got to love a derby, even if it is just volleyball!

Different shades of the same manager?

There's added spice to this Tyne-Wear derby too. You'll already know that the rivalry between the two cities stretches back centuries, and that dropping out of the Premier League could cost £100m.

But what about the simmering hostilities between the two managers? Both Rafael Benitez and Sam Allardyce have tried to play down their previous spats this week. Allardyce once said Liverpool's Champions League triumph in 2005 was "nowt" to do with Benitez, and the Spaniard sarcastically claimed that Barcelona would be copying Big Sam's tactics.

So when their players are going at it hammer and tongs, will they be able to keep their cool on the touchline?

Kevin Ajwala:  The best derby I've witnessed is the Mageta island local derby, pitting Mahanga fc v Lakers fc. It's always fascinating.

For those of you out there not aware of where Mageta Island is, we think we have found it here in Lake Victoria on the border between Uganda and Kenya.

That Tyne-Wear derby win for Paolo Di Canio in his second game, was one of four Sunderland managers who have achieve the same feat. The Italian joined Sam Allardyce, Dick Advocaat and Gus Poyet in losing his first game and then getting one over their arch rivals.

You will know that Rafael Benitez lost his first match as Newcastle manager at Leicester on Monday, but can he replicate the extraordinary achievements of the past four Sunderland bosses?

So it wasn't so long ago that Rafael Benitez was managing Real Madrid in El Clasico against Barcelona. Now it's the Tyne-Wear derby, I wonder how they compare?

Maybe not favourably on the quality front, but when it comes to passion, it's hard to match the north-east and I've seen it first-hand  a few times. Sunderland's 3-0 win over Newcastle at St James' Park in 2013 was memorable for Paolo Di Canio's celebrations, in only his second game in charge.

One Newcastle fan was so upset with the result he punched a police horse.
