So there you have it. Burnley are back to the top of the Championship after beating bitter rivals Blackburn at Turf Moor for the first time in 38 years.

Andre Gray's penalty was the difference for the Clarets in a match where they had to soak up monumental pressure.

Meanwhile, Cardiff have put the pressure on the play-off places, moving level on points with Sheffield Wednesday before the 15:00 GMT kick-offs.

The BBC Sport website is the place to be to follow all the action today, but from us, it's goodbye.

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton on Sky Sports: "The way the lads defended late on in the game, massive credit to them, it was a hard-earned 1-0 win.

"Every derby I've played in has had a great atmosphere, but this has probably surpassed the lot."

The ball is played in towards a melee of players, including Jason Steele, but Burnley keeper Tom Heaton punches the ball away, and despite claims for a penalty, the referee blows his whistle.

Blackburn have a free-kick and keeper Jason Steele throws himself forward! Kitchen sink time.

Another Blackburn long throw is pumped into the area and it drops to Elliott Bennett, who has the presence of mind to lay it off to Ben Marshall, but again Burnley get a block in.

Burnley midfielder Frederik Ulvestad has just been shown a yellow card. Quite frankly, I have no idea what for.

  7. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 90 mins

Blackburn could well be level here.

Ben Marshall plays a cracking cross in but when the ball comes loose Grant Hanley and Danny Graham leave it for each other allowing a defender to clear the danger.

Tommy Spurr's long throws are so dangerous, and Shane Duffy's flick on causes chaos in the area, but Burnley manage to clear for another throw in.

  9. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 88 mins

Time for Blackburn to throw big centre-back Shane Duffy up front? The just cannot seem to get the ball down in the opposition's half at the moment.

  10. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 86 mins

The number of times we have seen Blackburn players livid at their team-mates' decisions has been countless. This time, Ben Marshall cuts inside and fires over from Tommy Spurr's long throw when he had a man on his outside in prime crossing position.

What a chance that was for Burnley centre-back Michael Keane to seal the game!

Scott Arfield does brilliant to keep the ball alive after Matthew Lowton's lofted free-kick, and he crosses into an unmarked Keane, who swings at the ball and scuffs it before giving away a foul.

Blackburn also make a change as forward Chris Brown comes on for midfielder Hope Akpan to add some steel up front.

The delivery into the box from Blackburn has been so poor today.

Jordi Gomez is in acres of spaces down the right-hand side, but his left-foot delivery fails to beat the first man.

Rovers boss Paul Lambert must be fuming.

Elliott Bennett has looked like one of Blackburn's best players today, but my goodness he makes a mess of this.

The winger cuts in from the left but despite pressure from a Burnley player and plenty of men in the box, he decides to shoot.

That was a bad idea, as it scoops so far over the ball it's almost into Yorkshire.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 mins

    Burnley 1-0 Blackburn

Goalscorer Andre Gray is taken off by Burnley manager Sean Dyche having chased down every single ball, and is replaced by Rouwen Hennings.

Hennings has only scored twice for the Clarets this term.

Blackburn fans will appeal for anything given the nature of this game, and when Tony Watt turns Ben Mee and crosses into the area, they claim it hit a Burnley hand. No real appeals from the players though.

Soon after Elliott Bennett forces Tom Heaton into a low save with a driven effort but that again comes to nothing.

  16. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 68 mins

Burnley have barely been in this half, but Andre Gray almost nicks his side's second when he gets the faintest of touches to direct Fredrik Ulvestad's shot towards goal and Jason Steele gathers.

  17. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 66 mins

Blackburn try something a little different as Elliott Bennett plays the corner to Ben Marshall on the edge of the area, but while his effort is on target, it lacks any real power to trouble Tom Heaton.

This picture probably says everything you need to know about this match so far.

But Blackburn have a corner after Elliott Bennett's free-kick is headed behind by a Burnley defender.

  19. Burnley 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 64 mins

Blackburn need some quality to get back into the game, but don't get it when Ben Marshall scuffs a strike when he had men in the middle.

They, and in particular Shane Duffy, do not appear happy with his decision to shoot.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Burnley 1-0 Blackburn

Blackburn's turn now to use their bench as Matt Grimes comes off in place of forward Tony Watt.

Burnley defender Matt Lowton then gets a yellow card for a poor late tackle on Elliott Bennett.
