    Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

"I'm more than upset," is the starting point for Sam Allardyce's post-match interview. The Sunderland manager looked livid for the whole game...

    Full reaction to come.

  2. 'Wenger's excuse will not go down well'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Arsenal v Norwich (17:30 BST)

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"That wasn't a great comment by Arsene Wenger and I'm surprised he has made it. It's not a great excuse and I don't think it will go down particularly well.

"Arsenal have under performed and under achieved this season. Those atmospheres only come about when under perform. It's an excuse and it all seems a bit soft to me."

In the afternoon's major talking point, Sheffield Wednesday secured the final play-off spot with an eventually comfortable 3-0 win at home to Cardiff, who were the only side who could deny them it.

Wednesday will play either Middlesbrough, Brighton or Burnley in the play-offs, while Hull face Derby.

At the bottom, Charlton were already down but beat Leeds 2-1 at Elland Road. Daniel Johnson's stoppage-time goal gave Preston a first win at Reading since 1982 and Ipswich beat MK Dons 3-2 with a last-gasp hit.

  4. 'Relegation not in our minds'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace

Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow: “We were a bit flat in the first half but Andros’ goal got everyone up. The penalty save was a good moment for me. We have to keep going and make sure we avoid relegation.

“I just kept plugging away, you never know in football when your chance will come and you had to be ready to play. Tim Krul and Rob Elliot did an excellent job and now it is my turn to carry on the baton till the end of the season.

“We have never thought we would go down, it is not in our minds, we have stuck at it all season and we have been on a bit of a run for the last four games and hopefully we can carry that on.”

  5. Deeney leaves Villa feeling Bluepublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Watford 3-2 Aston Villa

Watford skipper Troy Deeney is happy. As you would imagine for someone whose two goals earned a late win. Against his boyhood team's biggest rivals.

"It took a while for us to get going, but we got a great victory in the end," says the Birmingham City-supporting striker.

"Credit to Villa, they scored two decent goals. We were poor, we can't hide from that, but in recent weeks we have played well and not got results. I'm a firm believer in that it always works it way around again.

"My best friend - a Blue - would have been loving that - he told me to stick it to Villa."

  6. A good time to play Arsenal?published at 17:14

    Arsenal v Norwich (17:30 BST)

    Steve Wilson
BBC Match of the Day commentator

"Alex Neil was a 15-year-old with big dreams when Arsene Wenger was appointed manager of Arsenal. When Neil was born in June 1981, Wenger was being offered his first coaching job - in charge of the youth at Strasbourg.

"Yet Norwich's impressive young manager is unlikely to be overawed by his first game in charge of a team at the Emirates.

"Norwich have already won at Old Trafford, drawn at Anfield and Upton Park and held Arsenal at Carrow Road this season. What they've done before, they can do again.

"Mind you, Norwich haven't won at Arsenal since the first day of Premier League football: 15 August 1992.

"Against a backdrop of some Arsenal fans protesting for change,, external Norwich might feel the time for another win on Gunners' soil has come."

    Everton 2-1 Bournemouth

Oh. That Toffees win has not got Roberto Martinez out of his sticky spot....

"Nice guy, terrible manager," reads just one of the several banners that are being waved around the quickly-emptying Goodison Park. Ouch.

  8. League One updatepublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

A goals from Lucas Akins and a stoppage-time winner from Tom Naylor gave Burton Albion a 2-1 win against Gillingham to put the Brewers on the verge of promotion.

They are six points clear of third-placed Walsall, who have two matches left. Burton, who have never played in the second tier of English football, could be celebrating on Monday if Walsall do not beat Fleetwood.

Millwall beat Oldham 3-0 and Bradford won 1-0 at Southend to secure their play-off places, while Barnsley remain sixth after coming from a goal behind to beat already-relegated Colchester 2-1. Ashley Fletcher was Barnsley's hero with both of his side's goals.

A late, late Jon Taylor winner saw managerless Peterborough win 4-3 at Shrewsbury and Doncaster will need a mathematical miracle to stay up if it stays the same. They are currently losing 2-1 at bottom-placed Crewe.

No messing about from Norwich manager Alex Neil as he makes five changes from their last match - also against Sunderland - two weeks ago.

    Watford 3-2 Aston Villa

Poor old Villa. Troy Deeney's late heroics condemn Villa to a 11th straight defeat - equalling the club record set in 1963. Another low in the lowest of seasons.

  14. Defoe to the rescuepublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

Jermain Defoe hasn't had many touches in this match (as the yellow dots show) compared with others but that matters little. A perfect penalty, a priceless point.
