    Harry Kane

Villa had been warned - a couple of times. With Westwood having just limped back on, Villa switch off as a quickly-taken free-kick from Dele Alli releases Harry Kane and he makes no mistake with an angled finish into the far corner. 21 for the season now for the England striker.

There's little happening on the pitch. Even less now that Ashley Westwood is down receiving treatment following a Mousa Dembele foul.

Cheryl Hickling:, external Typical Villa, as soon as they look like scoring they can just as easily concede. No confidence.

JavelBleach:, external Villa extremely lucky there. Just a matter of time. I expect it to end 3-0.

Chance! Idrissa Gueye is fouled by Kyle Walker to give Villa a free-kick on the left side of the Tottenham box. Carles Gil swings over the cross, which Rudy Gestede volleys but straight at Hugo Lloris. A couple of yards either side and the Spurs keeper would have been struggling.

Spurs have hit the woodwork nine times in 2016. That is two more times than any other Premier League team. They've managed it twice today. Both times they should have scored.

How has that not gone in?!

Kyle Walker's low cross is side-footed against the post by Erik Lamela with the ball then hitting the back of the diving Brad guzan before being hacked away from the exposed goal by Alan Hutton.

Harry Kane again, this time from distance. It is the toughest chance of the lot and his effort drifts harmlessly wide.

He has nine goals in his last 10 league games. Not a man to be giving space to in your own half.

Harry Kane sees another shot saved, this time from an angle after he had trolled his marker on the left. Villa keep giving the striker space. He won't keep missing. I can promise you that.

An ambitious effort Jordon Veretout sees the Villa midfielder volley wide from the edge of the box.

Tottenham should be leading. Danny Rose crosses low to a completely unmarked Harry Kane, whose low shot is too close to Brad Guzan and deflects wide off the keeper's legs. All credit to the keeper but a striker of Kane's ability should be scoring from a chance like that.

The average positions show only two Villa outfield players in their own half in that opening 20 minutes. They've made a positive start.

However, a third Villa corner comes to nothing when Rudy Gestede fouls Eric Dier.

Villa have enough on their plate without tackling each other, which is exactly what Carles Gil and Jordan Veretout do out on the Villa right. Still, they're enjoying the majority of possession at the moment.

This is decent from Villa. They have Spurs pinned back, but Aly Cissokho's cross is easily dealt with.

Spurs can hurt you in a flash, though, and they move quickly down the other end to set up Christian Eriksen for a shot that he fires wide.

Villa having a little spell of possession, but a dreadful touch from Rudy Gestede on the edge of the box prevents an attempt at goal. The striker looked like he had Herman Munster shoes on then.

Just a sniff of a chance for the home side. The ball nearly breaks for Rudy Gestede following Jordan Veretout's cross before just nipping away from him and being cleared. It draws some applause from the home fans - for effort, if nothing else.
