I think even the staunchest of Villa fans are now fearing the worst - that they will be travelling to Preston, Wolverhampton and Reading next season as opposed to Manchester, Liverpool and Leicester.

They are rock bottom of the Premier League (where they have been since 26 October and have lost their last four having shipped 15 goals in the process.

The Villa fans have been smashed, k'powed and whammed in the teeth so often, this is starting to seem more like a series Adam West's Batman than a season of football.

With Leicester not playing until tomorrow, today is the perfect opportunity for Tottenham to turn up the pressure on the league leaders.

And with their Europa League involvement all but ended by Borussia Dortmund in midweek, Spurs have one focus - making sure this expectation-defying, establishment-ruffling season delivers a first top-flight title in 55 years.
