  1. 'Everton should be much higher up the league'published at 12:22

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD2 Extra

"Everton have struggled at home but the atmosphere came through the television, it rocks at Goodison and if they move that is something they will have to look at.

"If you looked at Everton a few weeks ago you would have said they were Wigan (under Roberto Martinez) but with better players. They should be much higher up the league."

  2. 'Everton's perfect reaction'published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on MOTD2 Extra

"Yesterday was a really good win for Everton. It was the perfect reaction from losing late in the game to West Ham last weekend, and when Romleu Lukaku is on song, he is simply unplayable - as he showed yesterday."

  4. Everton's excellencepublished at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea

Jon makes a good point - Everton were superb yesterday.

Could this be their year? The bookies make them second favourites, and with Ross Barkley pulling the strings and Romelu Lukaku banging in the goals, they certainly have enough firepower.

They have tended to leak goals and squander leads in the league though - could that be a potential Achilles heel?

Emmanuel Ayodele: Mixed reaction if Arsene Wenger leaves. Who is going to be a perfect replacement? Arsenal fans please mind what we wish for!

Jon, Watford season ticket holder: Watford are overdue some goals, so, I predict they will beat Arsenal 2-1 today!

Jon Oliver: Could we perhaps focus on Lukaku's brilliance & Everton's win rather than Costa's stupidity...?

  6. PSG on edge of glorypublished at 12:00

Could today be the day that Paris Saint-Germain wrap up their fourth straight French league title?

The Parisians were mighty impressive in ousting Chelsea from the Champions League in midweek and have the chance to seal the league title with a win at Troyes, who are bottom of the table and have only won 2 league games all season.

  7. Van der Sar comes out of retirement to save penaltypublished at 11:55

A great story from the Netherlands yesterday, where former Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar came out of retirement for one match to help out his first ever team.

Van der Sar, 45, answered an SOS after VV Noordwijk - his first senior club - were left without cover when their keeper picked up an injury.

The fourth-tier match against Jodan Boys ended 1-1 after Van der Sar saved an early penalty.

Hibernian v Ross County (15:00 GMT)

Huge game north of the border today, as Hibernian and Ross County meet in the League Cup final, bidding to become the first winners of Scottish silverware this season.

BBC Scotland's Richard Wilson says that while the clubs share a dream, they are defined by their contrasts.

Lord Adam Murfet: Wenger will see his contract out - fans need to get on board. A cup is the minimum requirement but achievable. Get behind the team.

  10. Change needed at Chelsea - Gullitpublished at 11:40

Following the defeat to Everton, Chelsea's season is effectively over in March - a very unfamiliar feeling at Stamford Bridge.

And Blues legend Ruud Gullit says something's gotta give.

"Whoever the next Chelsea manager is, they will have to change a lot of things. Their whole team needs refreshing," Gullit told BBC Sport.

"Whether big names like John Terry, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa leave will be his decision but, even if they stay, Chelsea need to regroup in the summer and buy a lot of new players."

Who are you backing to win the FA Cup?

Can favourites Arsenal make it three on the bounce? Could Louis van Gaal answer his critics by steering Manchester United to victory? Or will West Ham or Watford be the dark horses?

Jay: Any one of West Ham/Crystal Palace/Watford winning the FA Cup would be fantastic provided the other finalist is MU/Arsenal.

Paul, Blues fan from Scotland: Everton to win it this year. So much goalscoring talent and a true battering-ram of a man in Romelu Lukaku.

  12. Costa in the clear?published at 11:30

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry has apparently taken to his Fanzai account (no, me neither) to deny that Diego Costa bit him.

  20. Palace put league woes behind thempublished at 10:50

    Reading 0-2 Crystal Palace

Everton will be joined in the semi-finals by Crystal Palace, who beat Reading 2-0 on Friday.

The Eagles have been plummeting in the Premier League, having failed to pick up a win in 12 matches, but goals from Yohan Cabaye and Fraizer Campbell extended their fine cup run.
