Papiss Cisse can't hold it up at all up front for Newcastle. The big man Aleksandar Mitrovic has to be an option second half?

Vurnon Anita's first goal in more than two years. It could yet prove to be a crucial one, the game is frantic now as it all gets a bit open. Kevin de Bruyne finds Fabian Delph but his pass is poor.

    Alan Shearer
BBC Radio 5 live at St James' Park

"Moussa Sissoko was coming down this left-hand side and all the Newcastle fans were screaming at the Newcastle players to go forward. As Anita heard the crowd he sprinted down that right-hand side.

"What a magnificent finish that was with his left foot. No-one was closing him down, they were inviting him to shoot and he did just that. That must give Newcastle confidence and belief."

    Vurnon Anita

A goal from a hugely unlikely source! A midfielder playing at right-back, Vurnon Anita sneaks a shot in off the far post to bring Newcastle level!

Moussa Sissoko runs down the left and hits a dipping switch pass out to right-back, Anita cuts inside on to his left foot and finds a gap between a forest of legs to hit home off the post.

"It was a poor ball from Kolarov and Sissoko read it very well. He had an option, he had Cisse to his right-hand side. A decent chance for Newcastle."

    Newcastle 0-1 Man City

Moussa Sissoko cuts out a slack pass from Aleksandar Kolarov and he charges off, toe-pokes it past Fernando and then cuts past Vincent Kompany too! He's ran it a full 60-odd yards and he's in on goal. Joe Hart comes out, Sissoko has Papiss Cisse with him but he shoots - straight at Hart.

Great play but a poor finish...

    Newcastle 0-1 Man City

    Alan Shearer
BBC Radio 5 live at St James' Park

"A couple of encouraging signs for Newcastle, Yaya Toure giving the ball away twice. One of the Newcastle midfielders, preferably Tiote, has to go back and help his back four."

Sergio Aguero, by the way, is the 25th player to score 100 goals in the Premier League and the first to do so from South America.

The harder you work the luckier you get. Who was it who said that? Manchester City's front three certainly set the tempo, Kevin de Bruyne has come back from a serious knee injury superbly.

  13. 'Aguero & De Bruyne phenomenal'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 19 April 2016

    Newcastle 0-1 Man City

    Alan Shearer
BBC Radio 5 live at St James' Park

"What was Lascelles thinking? A sloppy pass. A big mistake from the centre-half. Aguero and De Bruyne's work rate is phenomenal, which is one reason why Lascelles gave the ball to De Bruyne because their work rate put him under pressure."

  14. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Newcastle 0-1 Man City

A big chance for number two as Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles tries to play out from the back but only manages to find Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian drifts past him, takes on a shot from 25 yards and arcs it a yard or two wide.

A big let-off for the youngster but Newcastle are rattled.

That goal might have been chalked off if we had all got into a DeLorean and fast forwarded a few years. Why?

Fifa president Gianni Infantino hopes the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be the first tournament where video referees help officials with "game-changing" decisions.

The Swiss, who succeeded Sepp Blatter as boss of world football's governing body in February, added: "This means that by March 2018 we will see if it works or not.

"I really hope that the World Cup in Russia will be the first World Cup where video refereeing is used to make refereeing maybe better."

When you're down at the bottom like Newcastle are you can do without rotten decisions like that. Sergio Aguero was well offside as he headed home there.

No decision. Can the hosts respond?

"What a fantastic ball in it was. If there's one guy you cannot allow free, particularly at the near post, it is Sergio Aguero. What a disastrous start for Newcastle."

    Sergio Aguero

100 Premier League goals for Sergio Aguero! One of his most straightforward too, a free header from six yards out after a brilliant ball in from Aleksandar Kolarov.

Oh, he's offside. A yard or two off, clearly. But that's 100 goals in 147 Premier League games...

That advertising board with the animated Daschund catches me out for the 47th time this season as Manchester City build a neat attack down their left. Kevin de Bruyne is flitting about in the hole, a real menace. City keep the ball for ages but Pablo Zabaleta's cross is eventually blocked.

Good defending and organisation from the hosts.
