Walcott is in for Arsenal... but he can't finish. Olivier Giroud finds him charging in from the right but with Joe Hart rushing out the forward can only chip his effort over the keeper and wide.

What is it with Jack Wilshere and not staying on his feet? Every time he comes together with anyone he ends up on the floor.

The Gunners are hunting for an equaliser. Olivier Giroud's cross towards Theo Walcott in the box is headed away, though. Could have done with it being the other way round.

That was the 28th goal De Bruyne has been involved in for City in all competitions this season (16 goals, 12 assists). Not a bad way to start trying to justify that £55m fee.

Olivier Giroud with another chance. He gets it all wrong, though, and slices his shot from the edge of the box well wide of goal, much to the delight of the home fans.

"Arsenal have had a week off. They should be going for it, buzzing around, inspired by that earlier Spurs result. But instead the Gunners have been so lacklustre. Joe Hart's had one shot to save."

Soon after, Olivier Giroud is in acres of space in the box but heads over. Wouldn't have counted, though. Flag was up.

Things aren't going for Arsenal now. Even referee Anthony Taylor seems to be on City's side with an accidental interception to stop Jack Wilshere's pass reaching Alex Iwobi. "Oh ref!" shouts the latter. It is going to be his last act of the game.

Hishaam Habib: That's a brilliant goal by De Bruyne!

Dr Spits: Petr Cech there, ending the season for Arsenal the way he started it.

Paul Humphreys: This season has really made me question Petr Cech's goalkeeping. He's let in far too many soft goals this year. Should save that.

Kelechi Iheanacho is a goalscorer but he also need to learn when to pass. He charges through the middle to the edge of the box, with Laurent Koscielny in front of him and a team-mate in space either side, but ignores them and instead pokes a harmless shot wide of goal.

"Fantastic from Kevin de Bruyne. He evaded two challenges, drove inside and took it on. Should Petr Cech get beaten from that position? He seemed slow getting down, but a good goal."

City back in front! A goal early in the first half and now a goal early in the second. Kevin de Bruyne is allowed to carry the ball all the way from the halfway line to the edge of the box and he makes Arsenal pay with a low finish inside the post. Petr Cech was slow to get down. Now can City hold on for longer than they did after the opener?

Arsenal free-kick. It is midway inside the City half and is swung in to the box. Joe Hart looks good to catch it but instead opts to punch. Replays show there was plenty of pulling and shoving in the box. Alexis Sanchez one victim of a drag on his arm. No penalty, though.

Chance! Fernandinho charges into the Arsenal box down the right to meet a forward pass but his lack of pace allows Laurent Koscielny to get back and provide just enough of an presence to put the midfielder off his shot, which flies over the bar.

Peter: Why are Arsenal playing in beige?

Luke: City players playing for their City careers. After Madrid not one will be in Pep's thoughts for next season.
