What a start we had to this game. Two goals, two minutes apart before the game was 10 minutes old.

It has kept up a frantic pace since but there have been no further goals. Still all to play for.

De Bruyne goes for glory in the dying moments of the first half. It is an ambitious shot from 25 yards that ends way back in the stand behind the goal.

Olivier Giroud and Nicolas Otamendi come together in a clash that sees the former shoved off the ball. It is more like a scuffle between two hipsters in the queue of an independent Shoreditch coffee shop than a blood and thunder football challenge.

City corner. The delivery gets caught under a few sets of feet before Arsenal finally get the ball away. It is returned to De Bruyne wide right but his cross skips into the arms of Petr Cech.

It is like trying to bat away a swarm of angry wasps at the moment for Arsenal. The City players are all over them when they have the ball, harrying, snapping at their heels. It has the home crowd roaring their approval.

City firmly on the front foot. A series of crosses cause Arsenal some problems but the Gunners survive. Kevin de Bruyne's delivery from the left is snaffled by Petr Cech to give the away side some much needed respite. 

Navas is getting some joy against Nacho Monreal. He beats the Gunners defender on the outside but his low cross from the byeline is cut out.

Navas wins a corner after some nifty work down the right. See Robbie, he has got it in his locker.

The resulting set-piece is taken short and then swung in by Kevin de Bruyne but Eliaquim Mangala - still seeking a first City goal - nods wide at the back post. Head like a 50p piece.

There are some tasty tackles flying in now. Jesus Navas is dumped on his behind by Alex Iwobi, who was also involved in a little coming together with Nicolas Otamendi minutes earlier following a clash between the pair.

We'll be getting a card or two soon if this continues.

Richard in London: The fact Welbeck could be injured is not a worry to England. I find Hodgsons loyalty to him a bit weird.

Dave from Manchester: No other top team in Europe concedes comedy goals with the regularity of City. We desperately need that new broom. 

Gooner7: What has happened to Sanchez? Looks like he can't be bothered any more...

Chaos on the edge of the Arsenal box. Petr Cech comes charging out to clear a forward pass and just about manages to do so before clattering in to Sergio Aguero. The striker manages to recover the ball to maintain an attack that ends with Jesus Navas firing over the bar.

Jack Wilshere is on. He came on as a sub against Sunderland in late April, but this is a far more significant opportunity to show what he is all about.

Mark Taylor: Aaron Theaker (16:05), Wenger must have used some of his blackmail loot to bribe Giroud into scoring...

James Hiller: Hopefully that Giroud goal will help us to offload him in the summer.

Edmund Emiowei: It doesn't matter Giroud, you're still not a striker of a title-winning quality side.

Welbeck is back up and back on but he is shaking his head and limps from the field and down the tunnel.

Danny Welbeck is down holding his knee. He does not look happy. Worrying moments for Arsenal and England. It is the right knee - the one he has had problems with this season.

The pace slows for the first time as City play a bit of keep-ball on the halfway line. That first 20 minutes tell you everything you need to know about how much is at stake here.

Agueroooooo... no! The striker nearly bags his second as the ball is worked to him in the box but his goalbound effort is deflected over the bar by the outstretched leg of Gabriel.
