Newcastle United dropped into the Premier League's bottom three as relegated Aston Villa ended a run of 11 defeats amid more fan protests.

Villa supporters, angry at the running of their club, halted the match briefly in the 74th minute by throwing beach balls on to the pitch.

Aleksandar Mitrovic headed wide two good second-half chances for Newcastle.

Sunderland, who beat Chelsea, would relegate Rafael Benitez's side with victory over Everton on Wednesday.

    Norwich 0-1 Man Utd

    NorwichImage source, PA

Norwich City's chances of avoiding relegation seem increasingly dismal after a home defeat by Champions League-chasing Manchester United.

It was a match low on chances, but the win moves United to within one point of Manchester City, who are fourth.

With the score goalless, Cameron Jerome had Norwich's best chance only for David de Gea to save his header.

A mistake by Sebastien Bassong allowed Wayne Rooney to race clear and find the supporting Juan Mata, who slotted in.

    Leicester 3-1 Everton

Let's start with a story that I think you might have heard...

Champions Leicester comfortably beat Everton before being presented with the Premier League trophy during a day of celebrations at the King Power Stadium.

Jamie Vardy scored twice but missed out on a hat-trick by blazing a second penalty over the bar.

City's longest-serving player Andy King was also on the score-sheet with Kevin Mirallas netting Everton's consolation.

But this was almost a sideshow to the festivities for the Foxes' first top-flight title in their 132-year history.

Matt Watkins: Not sure you can bottle the league when you never led. Still, a brilliant season for Tottenham and an exciting future.

Ben Ashby: I'm far from wallowing in pity! The best season in ages, main objective of a Champions League place done and we could finish above Arsenal!

Jordan Kohn: In August I would have loved to get the Champions League. Now we are a force to be reckoned with and have a very bright future.

  6. ... and third-tier downspublished at 11:28

The bottom four teams are relegated to League Two. Crewe Alexandra were the first team to fall, relegated on 9 April after a 3-0 defeat at Port Vale.Colchester United went down on 23 April as they lost 3-0 to Burton.

Doncaster will be relegated on the final day unless they win and Fleetwood lose with a 10-goal swing in goal difference, and Blackpool lose. Blackpool themselves need to win, and Fleetwood to lose, to have any realistic hope of staying up.

Fleetwood's goal difference means a point will be enough for them to survive, barring an improbable Blackpool win by 13 goals.

    Got that? Good.

    All 12 of the day's games kick-off at 12:30 BST - what a humdinger of a lunchtime it'll be.

The top two teams are promoted to the Championship, with the next four sides entering the play-offs.

Wigan Athletic were promoted to the second tier after their 4-0 win at Blackpool on 30 April.Burton will join them if they avoid defeat on this final day of the season - but a loss could let in Walsall if they win with a three-goal swing in goal difference.

Whoever is not promoted from Burton or Walsall will contest the play-offs with Millwall and Bradford and one other team. The last play-off place will be taken by either Barnsley, Scunthorpe or Gillingham.

How are Spurs fans feeling now the title's slipped away?

Chris Knaggs: I'm proud of the team - we've achieved what we hoped for at start of season and I'm hopeful for future. What's not to like?

Max Baggins-Craig: As a neutral, there's not been too much 'rubbing in Spurs' face'. Plenty of positives for Tottenham still.

Fqiren: This was Spurs' one and only chance to snaffle the big prize and they've bottled it spectacularly. Arsenal to pip them to second.

  9. Bad Kompanypublished at 11:17

Man City v Arsenal (16:00 BST)

Poor old Vincent Kompany. Such a likeable chap, such a brittle body. The Manchester City captain has played just 22 matches this season - and says he will now miss Euro 2016.

The Belgium defender, 30, was substituted after 10 minutes of City's Champions League semi-final second-leg defeat by Real Madrid on Wednesday.

He said it was "very sad news" but promised he would not "give up".

"I trust my friends and team-mates to do well and do us proud at the next European Championships in France," he added.

"I am now officially their most fervent supporter and I will be there to support them."

Watford could be unchanged after beating Aston Villa last weekend.

Allan Nyom and Nathan Ake are pushing for recalls but Etienne Capoue remains sidelined with a knee injury.
