Ball in the net - but it's no goal. Michail Antonio bundles in a header at the far post but the ball had already gone out of play for a corner.

Manchester United's defence is all over the place. Chris Smalling was caught in the wrong half chasing the ball for that Andy Carroll chance.

Defend, defend, defend. Manchester United haven't had chance to get into the West Ham box yet. Not one touch of the ball in there after 20 minutes...

Sir Trevor Brooking: "Should have scored. He was played onside. He went through one-on-one. When he is running you feel he is not sure what to do. A wonderful opportunity."

    WHERE'S THE DEFENCE?!!

Andy Carroll is clean through on goal, he has 40 yards of space, almost ridiculous defending really as Daley Blind is caught 25 yards behind his centre-backs.

Carroll in on goal, but he never really convinces and ends up hitting the shins of David de Gea.

A huge chance. A poor finish.

Lovely from Dimitri Payet as he lets the ball through his legs to free Manuel Lanzini, those two on a different wavelength to everyone else at the moment.

A cross then comes in to Andy Carroll, and he tees up Payet for a rifled effort straight at David de Gea.

The old place has been rocking since well before kick-off and Diafra Sakho's goal has turned the volume up even more. West Ham United are all over Manchester United and at the moment Louis van Gaal's side cannot get any attacking momentum - early days though.

Dimitri Payet has to move some cumbersome AV equipment out of the way to take a corner. He picks out Mark Noble deep, some 30 yards out, for a Paul Scholes-style volley but Noble's effort is deflected and the follow up is hoiked over the crossbar.

Eddie: Get in there..Sakho scores 1st goal for West Ham..brilliant movement & Finnish.

Richard: OF COURSE it was a deflection. Because why wouldn't it be? A break would be nice

KN: Destiny in our hands but won't be surprised if we choked again. Characteristic of this season

Good riposte from the visitors, playing at a high tempo but they can't get a cross away and then Manuel Lanzini is almost clean through at the other end. Breathless stuff.

GOAL - West Ham 1-0 Man Utdpublished at 10 mins

    Diafra Sakho

Just the start that the home fans wanted! Aaron Cresswell plays a great ball down the left to find Manuel Lanzini, he picks out Diafra Sakho on the penalty spot. The ball is slightly behind him and on his left foot but he somehow gets enough on it to beat David de Gea and tuck it inside the far post.

    Lift off at Upton Park!

Sir Trevor Brooking: "After the bubbles, a good rendition, the place is rocking and it will be tough for Manchester United. Carroll getting that header in didn't happen when Fellaini was making him in the FA Cup game, so that's something Manchester United will have to watch."

Let's hope we have a game worthy of the occasion tonight. Well, Louis van Gaal is smiling on the bench, you don't see that too often.
