Switzerland have only beaten Poland once - a friendly back in 1976.

The sides are infrequent rivals to be honest, just 10 meetings across the years. This is the biggest clash in the history books for sure.

A first for both nations this afternoon.

Switzerland and Poland have both reached the knockout stage of a European Championship finals for the first time. In fact, prior to Euro 2016 Poland had never even won a game at the tournament.

Now both sides find themselves in the so-called “right half of the draw” and one of them will be the first country into the quarter-finals.

    How far can they go?

I am excited now because we are at the point where the games really start to matter. People are going home if they lose and that should create some better games, a bit more end to end and people having a go.

    Afternoon all.

Never have two rest days at a tournament dragged on for so long. After the feast of three, or even four games a day, the famine of no matches at all has been hard for us all to take.
