Mark Duffell: Just imagine the Premier League next year with Conte, Klopp and Mourinho in the same technical areas. Incendiary

Elizabeth Galligan: Juan Mata and Ander Herrrera should be part of the Spain side. Don't understand why they're not even part of the squad.

Spain have had 75% possession in the last 15 minutes. Italy seem to be missing midfielder Daniele de Rossi. Can they hang on? Here's a chance for Eder to latch onto a throughball but it's too strong.

Spain - unable to thread their way through the Italy defence, not quick enough to find a way around it.

Vincente del Bosque remains seated, perhaps aware that his era in charge could soon be over. Counterpart Antonio Conte has very different ideas....

Spain just starting to turn this up a notch as Andres Iniesta smacks a lovely left-footed volley towards goal. But Gigi Buffon tips it over. Moments later Gerard Pique tries his luck from distance but the Italian keeper dives to his right to stop it.

    Conte

Antonio Conte is fuming with his own players as the ball rolls over to him in the technical area. So what does he do? Whacks the ball down the touchline! The Italian fans love that, the referee, not so much. But he gets away with it.

Lucas Vasquez is played in by fellow substitute striker Aritz Aduriz and clips the post but he is rightly called offside.

Emanuele Giaccherini is looking a tiny bit tired, which is entirely understandable. He's put in a hell of a shift down this left-hand side.

Aritz Aduriz has caused problems since coming on and is up for a cross to win a corner. It's swung over to Sergio Ramos, whose free header is over the top.

Spain make another change as Lucas Vasquez replaces Alvaro Morata, who has failed to breach his Juve team-mates in the Italian defence.

I'm amazed the Spanish are not looking at more changes with the quality they have on the bench. Absolutely gobsmacked.

Mattia de Sciglio makes another brilliant last-gasp tackle. If the two wide men for Italy - De Sciglio or Allesandro Florenzi - don't win the man of the match then the observers have been watching a different game.

Finely poised now but Italy just seem to have more players in the box in defence and attack compared to Spain. The European Championship holders have 25 minutes to part the blue sea in front of them.

Manchester United's David de Gea is keeping Spain in this, yet another great save - this time from Italy striker Eder from the earlier one-on-one. Watch it again below.

David Silva scythes through the back of Mattia de Sciglio, something of a rare event. And here come Italy again. Eder inches from adding a second but David de Gea pokes clear.

Italy are opening up Spain when they want to, the question is whether they can take the vital chance before Spain equalise.

Slight momentum shift here in Paris.

Italy coach Antonio Conte continues to summon players to his dugout for tactical instructions and, despite Spain opening this half well, really his team should be 2-0 up.

When the big screens here showed a replay of the Graziano Pelle flick that sent Eder through on goal there was a gasp.

Cries of 'Italia' ring out around the Stade de France.

Hang on. Gerard Pique blocks the run of Eder, then lands on him with an extended boot, which may not have been intentional. The Italians are fuming, especially Eder, but the referee is not bothered by it.

Spain have already had more shots in the second half than they did in the first and Aritz Aduriz climbs to reach a cross, but lands heavily. He looks OK to carry on, though.

I don't think I've ever seen a keeper better at saving one-on-ones than David de Gea. He stays so big for so long.
