    England 1-2 Iceland

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

England have got to show composure, get some shape. Start moving the ball, one or two touch, get the width back. At the moment they're rushing it.

  2. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

That's why Harry Kane takes some England free-kicks, it's a dream of a ball to the back stick and Chris Smalling should hit the target. Instead he heads over. A big chance.

When Iceland break it's two or three players against six England players, but nobody seems to be closing them down. England are giving Iceland an easy out.

Gylfi Sigurdsson fouls Danny Rose, and then prevents his former Spurs team-mate from taking the free-kick. Booked.

Wayne Rooney flashes a shot wide for England and then loses the ball in a dangerous area to set up the Icelandic counter. Swansea man Gylfi Sigurdsson curls one right down Joe Hart's throat. At least he held that.

Dougie Kinnea: I think everyone should give Joe Hart a break. Maybe he is ropey, but at least his hair is shiny and flake free!!

Advey: Clever tactic from England this - playing the rope-a-dope

Arvind Kamath: France licking their lips at idea of playing this England team in QF. It's gonna be a thrashing if they get past Iceland

  7. Clinical Icelandpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    England 1-2 Iceland

England frantically trying to get back into this. Seven shots to Iceland's two, but both of those have counted.

  8. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

That was a great strike! An excellent game to watch as Iceland now attack after 10 minutes of blanket defence, left-back Ari Freyr Skulason takes aim, nearly takes Wayne Rooney's head off in the process of sending a dipping drive wide...

  9. Postpublished at 33 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

There are goals in this still. England piling forward as Raheem Sterling and then Harry Kane are very close to breaking through the last man, but then leaving gaps for the Icelandic counter.

Sterling has actually been bright. He's not gone missing.

  10. 'Sterling lacks confidence'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

It's a shambles at the back. We said we couldn't defend. They've put two balls in the box and it's two goals. Sterling is still lacking confidence for me.

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 30 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

Dele Alli jinks into the box and goes down as Icelandic goalscorer Ragnar Sigurdsson closes in - no penalty and no apparent contact either.

  12. 'Good effort by Kane'published at 20:31 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

Great technique by Kane at the far post. He does everything right. Unfortunately the volley was straight at the keeper.

  13. Postpublished at 30 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

England keeping the ball well, their front three are involved before Raheem Sterling finds Danny Rose on the overlap. His low cross is hard - but deflected in to the hands of the Iceland keeper. A matter of time? Or a question of faith?

stuart james young: Iceland in dreamland.....! England looking lost.....seen this before....Vardy on, a must.

Thomas Fiorilli: Surely whether we qualify or not is moot. France would destroy us on this form.

Helles Mammut: The sad thing is Joe Hart is still the best English goalkeeper, the others have proven that they are even worse..

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 28 mins

    England 1-2 Iceland

Fantastic stuff, Daniel Sturridge finding space on the right, he keeps the ball in and then finds Harry Kane arriving at pace. Kane hits the volley, brilliantly, but it's turned away by Hannes Thor Halldorsson!

England have been stunned by what has happened to them - and once again serious questions must be asked about goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Just like Gareth Bale's free-kick, a shot down to his left that he got good contact on but couldn't keep out.

Kolbeinn Sigthorsson's shot was decent at the end of a fine move but any goalkeeper of quality would have expected to keep it out.

This is very, very worrying for manager Roy Hodgson - but plenty of time left.

This is quite astounding stuff really. First Leicester, now Iceland? It really is anyone's game.

England having all of the ball, but behind. The die has been cast.

England look ropey at the back as Iceland counter well. They win a throw-in, here it comes.

WOOOOSSSHH - headed out well by Harry Kane this time.

Joe Hart flaps at a ball back into the box and he's lucky to get away with it as the referee gives him a charitable free-kick...
