The passback rule is the best rule change in my time watching football. Right?

Although as I say that Joe Hart has to screw a clearance into the stands after John Stones sold him short.

Turkey get us back up and running. Another of those new rules which is coming in by the way is a niche one. You don't have to take a kick-off forwards.

Here come the players for the second half. Any changes? It doesn't look like it yet.

Apologies too for picking out Turkish goalscorer Hakan Calhanoglu as the danger man before the match. He has impressed though.

The pace from Jamie Vardy to latch on to that very early through ball was just startling. I saw a goal he scored for Stocksbridge Steels in about 2009 recently. It was like a Forrest Gump touchdown...

Isabelle, Sheffield: Anyone know why Alderweireld and Lloris haven't started? This Spurs side look a bit shaky without them!

Peter Blow: The brass band need to stay away this summer. Killing atmospheres for 20 years now.

Bob: Critics of course will say Vardy doesn't score enough for England! Playing him on the wing is why, Roy.

If Roy Hodgson is thinking of any half-time changes, here are his options:

Bench: Forster, Bertrand, Henderson, Drinkwater, Barkley, Townsend, Delph, Heaton.

"Kane and Alli, the partnership is outstanding. Dier's looked solid in front of the back four. But would you bring Kane off now perhaps? We know he's going to start, he's had a long season and could do with a rest. Maybe we could have a look at a plan B? Let's have a look at how Vardy gets on there."

It's not where you want him but that's great play from Jamie Vardy, who tracks back all the way to cut out a run in the left-back position. The transition is excellent and Dele Alli soon finds Vardy inside, but he blazes over from 22 yards.

Turkey free-kick, England have a line of seven marking zonally but a great delivery beats them all. Mehmet Topal meets the ball with a meaty header but he can't control it and it's well over the bar.

"Jamie Vardy's had a wonderful season but he's just unlucky that the way Leicester play is not the way international football is played.

"It'll be interesting to see what changes Roy will make at the break. Wilshere and Sterling haven't done an awful lot, but will they stay on?"

Herschel: Paul Scholes is working wonders as the new Turkey tackling coach.

Mark Coleman: Why has Roy put Vardy on the left wing again? Did he watch a different Premier League season?

Phil Elliott: I may be missing it here but why schedule the game the day after the cup final? So the captain can't play? Actually....

If Roy Hodgson has learned anything from playing 4-3-3 in this first half it is that Raheem Sterling is a natural winger, and Jamie Vardy is not. True, Vardy is ready for long balls over the top, but so is the Turkey defence and they have not given him much space to run into down the left, apart from just now. Sterling has looked much more dangerous down the right - his end product still needs to improve dramatically, but we all knew that already, right?

James: Everyone was complaining about Townsend being in the squad, but I'd take him any day over Sterling. Every time Sterling plays, for England and Man City, all I see him do is score the odd tap-in but Townsend always impresses when he plays for England, and he's been pretty good for Newcastle this season.

So seven spots up for grabs according to Danny Mills. Danny Rose has a few hearts in mouths with a dubious touch inside his own area but he knows what he's doing. He springs Jamie Vardy down the left but - you guessed it - his ball in is not great.

Another late tackle from a Turkish player, this time Caner Erkin goes through the back of Jack Wilshere. Ruthless.
