Barcelona make a change at the back as Marc Bartra replaces Gerard Pique at centre-back.

  2. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 2-0 Sporting Gijonpublished at 63 mins

    Luis Suarez

Game over surely. Lionel Messi finds Andres Iniesta in the box and the Spain legend squares it to Luis Suarez, who is at the back post to fire home.

Suggestions he was offside. Replays inconclusive.

    Paris St-Germain 1-0 Lille

A bit of controversy over that PSG goal. Layvin Kurzawa is standing a good yard offside as Javier Pastore's shot heads towards goal - to the point that it almost hits him. Vincent Enyeama protested to the officials, claiming that his attempt to dive towards the ball was effectively obstructed by Kurzawa. It doesn't get Enyeama anywhere, but it isn't difficult to see why he is a bit miffed.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Sporting Gijon make an attacking change as 20-year-old striker Antonio Sanabria, once of Barcelona B, comes on for Pablo Perez.

    Free-kick. Lionel Messi. Over.

  7. Postpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Neymar's confidence is really low. Lionel Messi finds the Brazilian in space and he again overthinks it with Ivan Cuellar able to save his shot. The Neymar of a couple of months ago might have had a hat-trick.

  8. Postpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Dani Alves crosses in from the right, Luis Suarez and Neymar fail to get a touch and Jordi Alba's shot is blocked by a defender. Maybe with an arm, but there weren't strong appeals.

  9. goal

    GOAL - Paris St-Germain 1-0 Lillepublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Javier Pastore (40 mins)

A little surprisingly, given the levels of counter-attacking in this game, the breakthrough comes from a corner. Vincent Enyeama punches clear to the edge of the penalty area. Javier Pastore drives a shot back in, and it takes a deflection off Adama Soumaoro. PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa is clearly in an offside position, but not interfering with play in the eyes of the referee.

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Lionel Messi has scored over 500 career goals and it feels like almost a half of them have been like this. Gets the ball on the right, jinks inside and then curls a shot towards the far post. This one goes wide though.

  11. Postpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Luis Suarez chips a shot wide and Andres Iniesta lashes a shot over. It was like a rugby kick. The worst thing he's ever done.

  12. Postpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

We're five minutes into the second half, Sporting not doing too badly, but Lionel Messi almost doubles Barca's lead, flashing wide an effort from 20 yards.

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Lille

Another chance for PSG. Angel di Maria breaks down the right and cuts inside; the ball runs through to Lucas Moura, who must score... but Lille centre-back Marko Basa throws himself in the way to make a magnificent block. Basa takes a bit of a bashing as Lucas follows in, but he is OK after treatment.

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Lille

A lovely bit of skill from Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost gives PSG the breakthrough. Serge Aurier's long pass from the right-back position is controlled beautifully on the stretch by the striker, with Lille's defence floundering. Ibrahimovic cannot find the finish as the keeper advances, and lifts his shot over.

  15. Postpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Lionel Messi has the ball in the net but the whistle had long gone as Luis Suarez collides with keeper Ivan Cuellar, enabling the ball to land to Messi.

We are under way in the second half now.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Barcelona 1-0 Sporting Gijon

Barcelona make one change at half-time as Dani Alves - usually first choice - comes on for Sergi Roberto at right-back.

  18. Postpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Lille

Approaching the half-hour mark in the Coupe de la Ligue final, and it's becoming a bit of a counter-attack fest. It's Angel di Maria on the break for PSG down the right, with time and space to pick out Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the far post. Inexplicably, Di Maria goes for goal, poking a tame shot straight at Vincent Enyeama. If you need me to tell you that Zlatan is unimpressed by this, you clearly don't know Zlatan.

  19. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Lille

Good spell of Lille pressure, this. Mounir Obbadi drives in a ball that causes consternation in the PSG defence, with centre-back Marquinhos turning it back towards his own goal, and Salvatore Sirigu getting down well to save, before the offside flag comes to the rescue of the French champions.

  20. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Lille

It's a better free-kick this time from Sofiane Boufal - really whipped in. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who does his fair share of defending at set-pieces, does well to glance behind for a corner, which PSG then deal with.
