  1. Wimbledon 0-0 Accringtonpublished at 12 mins

A dangerous free-kick is swung in from the left for Wimbledon and Sean Rigg gets a head to it for the hosts.

There was plenty on it, but it's wide of the far post.

Wimbledon are really going for it early here as Callum Kennedy has a crack at goal. Nice effort, but no harm done.

  2. Wimbledon 0-0 Accringtonpublished at 9 mins

    Bobble, bobble - SHOOT.

I can't get away with calling Josh Windass' run and shot anything more than a hit-and-hope effort from outside the box for Accrington. Windass did everything right, but it must be said the the state of the pitch impaired him as he shaped to shoot. Heck, it was bobbling the entire time.

Woooossshhh. Lyle Taylor with the first chance of the game.

Wimbledon's leading scorer doesn't need much of an invite to run at Accrington's defence. When he does, he's into the box and lashes a shot just wide of the far post. Dangerous.

  5. Wimbledon 0-0 Accringtonpublished at 3 mins

Accrington boss John Coleman has been on about picking up his players after missing out on automatic promotion last week.

Judging by these very early minutes, the visitors are looking busy and well up for the fight as they are chasing everything and keen to press up field.

Accrington are not that much better off, having got this far one before. And that time they fell to Stevenage at the semi-final stage in 2010-11.

  8. Is it Wimbledon's day?published at 19:28

    Wimbledon v Accrington (19.30 BST)

Wimbledon produce one of the most unlikely FA Cup final wins in history as the 'Crazy Gang' beat Liverpool at Wembley Stadium - the day was 14, May 1988.

Now, exactly 28 years after that famous triumph, the club that was reformed following the old Wimbledon's demise is preparing to move a significant step toward returning to the national stadium (which, like Wimbledon has been rebuilt).

Hosts Wimbledon make eight changes from the side that won 1-0 at home to Newport County last Saturday on the final day of the regular season.

Accrington players appealed with Trevor Kettle after Billy Kee's goal was ruled out

The result in March, and turns out Accrington's hopes of automatic promotion, hinged on the moment that Billy Kee had a goal chalked off on the half-time whistle.

Now, writing those words really doesn't do the incident justice, as the referee blew for half-time just as the ball was well on its way into the back of the net after Kee let rip from close range. Do yourself a favour and check it out on YouTube., external

Oh, and as a kicker Accrington goalkeeper Ross Etheridge was sent-off late on.

  14. Time to take flightpublished at 19:10

    Wimbledon v Accrington (19:30 BST)

Tonight could see one side take a significant step towards new(ish) heights.

I say new(ish) as Wimbeldon are aiming to reach the third tier for the first time since their formation in 2002.

Likewise, Accrington Stanley are aiming to do the same as they have not featured in the third step of the English game since the club was reformed in 1968.

At this point I will declare it impossible not to use the almost obligatory milk reference (yes Accrington Stanley fans THAT advert, external will haunt forever more). As the old saying goes, there can be no crying over spilt milk after Accrington missed out on automatic promotion on goal difference - a goalless draw with Stevenage last week proved decisive.
