And that's that for the first 45. It's edgy and it's not been anywhere near what we had in the first leg.

Wasted opportunities at both ends means we go in goalless. Plymouth have had the better of those chances, but haven't really tested the Portsmouth goalkeeper, Ryan Allsop.

Still, there's a huge second half to come. Possibly extra time and penalties, too.

Well, that looked promising for Plymouth until Jake Jervis got on the end of it.

Kelvin Mellor on the right hand side - a rare venture forward for him - delivers a ball into the box, it's headed away and falls to Jervis. Fancy the volley? He does, but with no power whatsoever. It's cleared.

Enda Stevens does well on Portsmouth's left hand side, twisting one way and then the other. His ball isn't a bad one into the box as it finds Gary Roberts.

Roberts' touch isn't the best, and the second one sees the ball out of play. Portsmouth, who have only had the odd chance in the first half, see another chance go begging.

Four minutes added on at the end of this first half.

Not another Portsmouth injury. Danny Hollands this time - the man who has been sitting just in front of that back four. He's gone down awkwardly under a Plymouth challenge.

Ben Close is the man to replace him.

Jake Jervis - go and change your boots, please.

A free-kick is pumped into the Portsmouth box and knocked down. Peter Hartley takes a wild swing but misses the ball. It falls to Jervis who takes a touch to the left, but scuffs it completely.

Not the first chance he's missed today.

Will we see a breakthrough before half-time? This tie certainly has lacked the intensity of the first game, and I think both would happily take 0-0 after the first 45.

And to prove how quiet it's been, the Portsmouth fans are singing "is this a library?" to the Plymouth end. Tough crowd.

Chance for Portsmouth as Gary Roberts cuts open the defence to put substitute Adam McGurk through on goal. Luke McCormick, the Plymouth goalkeeper, is alert to it, comes off his line and just gets there.

Kyle Bennett then fires one fairly wide from a good 25 yards out.

    Two quick chances for Portsmouth.

Incredible chant. One section of the Plymouth faithful are singing "oo-ar, oo-ar" in true West Country style.

In the meantime, Plymouth's Jake Jervis breaks to the right hand side after the ball is slid through to him by Graham Carey. His shot, inside the penalty area, is blocked. The corner is cleared by Pompey.

As we suspected then, it's game over for Gareth Evans. That tackle from Carl McHugh has ended his afternoon and Adam McGurk is on.

Evans looks really upset by that. His Wembley dream may be fading with that.

Ouch! Gareth Evans is on the receiving end of a sliding challenge from Carl McHugh. When the Plymouth man went in, he's gone round the back of Evans, and brought him down.

It looks like the Pompey midfielder's afternoon is over.

Plymouth fans have gone a little quiet now with the action dying down. The play is quite broken at the moment with several throw-ins and free-kicks being taken for minor fouls.

The referee from the first leg, Oliver Langford, was the focus for a lot of Thursday's match. Our man in the middle today, Paul Tierney, is hardly noticeable at the moment.

"Having watched Hull, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley register big play-off wins, it seems this match is back to the traditional cagey play-off tie.

"Both sides seem to know how important this game is and are giving nothing away."

    Boring boring football.

By this time in the first leg we already had three goals. What's going on, boys?!

I think my stat at 17:56 has jinxed this tie. It's my fault, apologies.

    Free-kick to Plymouth, 20 yards out - it's a big big chance.

Graham Carey lines up to take it after being downed right on the edge of the box. Ryan Allsop with the south coast sun in his eyes, but it's wide and over.

    Another wasted Plymouth set-piece.

That's not like Graham Carey. Usually he hits the target. He's scored some fantastic goals from free-kicks in his career.

Skills from Ryan Allsop. His defender nods the ball back to him but the Portsmouth goalkeeper has a bit of running to do. He manages to gather the ball and, with arms outstretched, just keeps it in play. 95% of his body was out of play, but not the ball.

Moments later, he's called on again, Jake Jervis in the box and Allsopp has to get low to save.

    Hmmmm, Gary Roberts.

Jake Jervis is downed on the touchline, but in clearing the ball away, Portsmouth's Roberts leaves a foot in on Jervis just clipping his right shoulder.

Only he will know if he meant that.

Kyle Bennett worms his way into the box, on the left hand side, for Portsmouth and fires in a shot looking for the near post. It goes wide but I think the goalkeeper had it covered anyway.

Portsmouth's first chance though - can they build on it?

It's certainly not quietened down the Plymouth faithful.

So where can this tie go? Well, there are no away goals so if we are level after 90 minutes then we will go to extra time, and, of course, we have that looming prospect of penalties.

Plymouth have started much the better of the two teams. Portsmouth have been very tentative.

Jake Jervis has a chance to test Ryan Allsopp but it's adventurous to say the least. The Portsmouth goalkeeper has got the sun in his eyes, but a free-kick by Jervis from 30 yards or so sails well over the bar.

    Wasted.
